After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
The first time I saw this scan (by ~yokubou, I knew I had to make something with it - Shinji's expression and pose are absolute, and he is so natural...
Like almost always, I opened Photoshop without knowing exactly what to do. Just knew it had to match Shinji's personality (which is quite close to mine - not amused!).
And so, I decided to put him between four walls (propbably with some mistakes in the perspectives). The scan hadn't exactly the quality I desired... Must think about making vectors, I know.
I am thinking in another wallpaper made from this scan, that could match Shinji's (bored) expression much better.
This was the first time I drew everything and used textures and patterns made by me (the only exception goes for the splatter brushes, found here). It was like a test, I can say.
The wallpaper required about four hours.
the result is not pretty or pleasant, but, anyway, this wasn't my objective... ;)
Comments and suggestions are very welcome, as always.
Thank you!
I like that red colour) And excellent work on shadows. But then again, the resolution could be a little higher.. You see, this one ain't going to look perfectly on 1680x1050 monitor. And that's a pity.
There are a few odd errors though ~ texturing wasn't done for Kenji (I don't know if that was on purpose or not...if it was then that texture seems to fit the wall more, and another texture might have worked better for the floor).
The other thing is the shadow's too strong - that only happens when there's direct, strong sunlight hitting the subject (in this case, Kenji's in the shade already xp).
Agan, loved the setup of everything - a different angle and perspective.
Thanks for sharing :).
It's Nice Wallpaper.
Sinji's Casual Wears Privide Him with Freshiness and Vigor. His Eyes are Cool and Sharp. They are a Little Strange Compare with His Atmosphere in Stories of Evangelion.
I Think He is Filled with Spirits of Insubordination. However Reversed Concept in This Wallpaper is Very Creative.
Arts and Characters in the Background Mean His Dilemma in His Heart. '[NO[ WAY OUT' Express His Sorrow Situation.
I Wonder Red Prints in the Walls behind Him Mean. Sacrifice, Victim or His Pain...?
Thanks for Your Good Work.
The red wall sign seems a little out of place. The Shinji scan has different colouring techniques from the rest of the wallpaper, and it shows. Also I feel that he doesn't accurately represent the moods depicted on the wall. Finally the colours seem a bit too bright for the emo-themes. Yes its red, but its still rather queer, as though the wall was done on purpose, for the sake of art.
I love Shinji, and this really does capture him very well. One thing that I'd advise is paying attention to the shadows in figures when placing shadows on backgrounds - The shadows on Shinji are contrary to the shadows he's casting in the background. It's something that it pays to keep an eye on when you're adding shadows to an image.
