This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
My second attempt to make a vector wall. This is a combination of vectoring, brushes, scan cleaning and I don't know what else. You can see I've added a lot of light and also a hint of some winter foliage. What was the hardest? Um, I would say that vectoring of the hair.
Please, view the widescreen version, since I've expanded her hair into the left side what is cut off in the 1600x1200 resolution. Sorry, I know I prefer widescreen
If you want to know how the original scan looks like, take a look here.
Anyway, hope you like it. I don't have much to say this time.
EDIT: I actually have something more to say. Devoted to ~sanzosgirl19 because of her birthday, I'm a bit late, though. Best wishes, dear!
I love it!
i love the simplistic of this wall. the light and dark colors really blends
+ nice effects on her/his hair!
double love for the widescreen!
+fav!
I remember seeing a wall with the same character before but it was cut off below the neck region so this looks much, MUCH better. I really like the soft colors and the wintery feel the wall has. The little details around her face are a great touch, too.
Nice job with the vectoring! You mixed the vectoring into the wall well and I like the brushes you used as well.
I have seen sooo many walls with this scan and I have liked just about all of them. XD
Hey selennna, this is great.
the hair is hard, but the outcome looks pretty good.
I know it is very hard, because I did have hard time vectoring hair, and until now I still can't do it properly.
I love the blue-white grunge wind (is it wind? ;p), it really creates some calm atmosphere, and it is even better because the character really fits the atmosphere.
Critic? I don't have much, but I can say I'm not fond of the flower-leaves brushes you used, maybe it's only me, but I don't feel it (the brushes) has to be there.
As soon as I saw it
I knew it was yours
The brushes look good
the background
and how the scan
floats and blends with
the colors
everything looks lovely
you're doing awesome!

Hmm I like the simplicity, yet the soft touch of detail that makes this wallpaper beautiful. I love the hair which I'm sure most people said as well lol, I also love winter so the snow and flowers are just perfect, it's some of the best vectoring I've seen in a while, your brush work is flawless and I LOVE the colors. It has a aura of sadness all your walls seem to give off as well as an underlying emotional core I wonder if others feel as well. A+ and a fav
First time ive seen this scan even partially vectored, so nice job on that. xD
it would have been soo nice if you hadnt used those leaf brushes. it just rly ruins it for me. and some of the snow on the left needs some work, they seem too bunched up together in some areas.
The parts you vectored looks really nice but the hair is my favorite part... looks awesome °_° and I love the colors you use in the wallpaper ^_^ the leaves you add in some parts of the wallpaper looks nice but I'm not sure about the leaves near to her face.... anyway is a awesome wallpaper ^_^
