So this project all started with my assignment for school. The assignment required me to do some animation and what not and my idea I came up with was to animate this piece on my wall (my actual wall in my room) The design went through LOTS of transformations and planning. Initially instead of Ichigo it would've been a silhouette version of Hidan (from naruto) but didn't fit too well with the style and theme of this wall.
I first began to vectorize Ichigo and Totoro (haha needed something there but owl wouldn't look good :P) ichigo himself went through various stages from pure black to a different hue/tonal value off the original scan, to partly silhouette, to mysterious, to his stage now.
The tree and grass and a few of the other elements were made with Photoshop custom shapes and brushes.
All in all this wall took me a lot longer than I thought it would. Especially with Ichigo...man he was a hassle. Must've taken me at least 7hrs to get him right. And that doesn't include the time it took to realize Hidan wasn't fit for this wall. lol.
So yup...I think that about wraps it up hehe. Hope ya'll like it. I know i do! haha and enjoyed making it as well.
Oh and if and e one wants a text version or has and e requests or suggestions to some text, my ears are open. I just left it like this cause after some previous submissions I realized alot of the people here prefer the pure look. :)
PS: If ne one wants to see the progress I would'nt mind setting it up once I finish with my animation part :P
PPS: This wall was inspired by my good friend, Jackie Chow. :)
PPPS: Since I got so many complaints about the resolutions, I included the 1600x1200 size :) it's cause I love you all!
Awesome ... Amazin ... Perfect walli ... i really love it ... i love the idea, the bg and the colors ... they all freakin cool ... keep it up the gr8 work ... favie
I had slightly higher hopes b4 i clicked full view
the totoro is kinda random
the vector arrow thing is also a bit random
they dont seem to fit too well
the edges of ichigo could use a little cleaning
all round, very average, bordering below-average imo
nothing fits together except maybe the blue. i especially dont like the tree and grass. they've got too much detail to them and it contradicts the bold and straightforward look of ichigo (is it him?), totoro and the city.
the sky is, overall, not bad. if only it was shifted up a bit so more of the clouds are in view. however, i dont like the 3 shooting stars in the corner. compared to realistic sky, 3 stars look odd and ruin it for me.
the placing and formation of the stars around ichigo is very original. i like ^^
if your trying for an abstract look, i think you may have got a little lost. if your trying for the random look, u've got it ^^

Everything about this wallpaper is just so stylish! I'm just not feeling the Totoro right now, but I'm sure I'll warm up to his presence...
