this is an experiment. an atempt to learn more about PS, and get a feel for abstract art. i'm not much of a abstract person, but i wanted to make something relatively abstract. so i found a scan i liked, extracted it, and played with PS. everything in the bg is made by me (not one to rely on brushes to do my work). to make the shattered sunset, i went crazy with the pen tool (and i do mean crazy, no rhyme or reason to what i did). after i saw it looked like something had broken i started playing with gradients, and realized i could make a sunset with the gradients (never really used gradients much before). then i cleaned up the lines on the character, some. and made a floor. after i stared at it for a while i decided to make a night sky bg, and so i did. the night sky is actually, to me, very pretty, too bad you can't see it all. you might later, depending on how this goes.

it doesn't really seem like it's complete (or good, in other words), but you guys can help me with that. my brains tired, so inspiration is fading.

i have a 4:3 version as well, 1600x1200. but i'll upload it when i submit it to the regular gallery. for the 4:3 aspect ratio, i didn't just resize it, i made sure the proportions stayed the same, then changed the canvas size and moved things around. you'll notice the moon is in a slightly different place.
