This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
So this wallpaper is a bit different from what I usually do...not sure why. XD It's just not grungy or texture-y or a [pathetically done] vector wallpaper. It's colorful! This was a request by one of my friends on MyOtaku/theOtaku, Yaya-chan. :3 She's a cutie. This request took a while because I had other requests to finish, and I also couldn't find any good scans of what she wanted first. So she changed her mind to Ichigo Mashimaro! And I think it was a good choice! I hope. I actually like how this wallpaper came out...and that doesn't happen too often.

And proceeded to extract. I thought it was fine at first, but then when my wallpaper was moved to SZ for "extraction issues", well, yeah. XD I did have to fix some things up around their hair, but all in all, it turned out fine. After A LOT of work...actually. The initial extraction was rather rough. ^^;; But thanks to Session Zero, I fixed that mistake!
The background was a lot of work because I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it! You should've seen it at first. It was brown with the white fog/clouds and some random squares on the side with lines. Ugh. Then during dinner I decided that a brighter background would be better. I wanted a stock photo of a Chinese restaurant to put back there...which I did, but it was too blurry. ^^;; Sooo...it ended up being motion blurred to just make it look like that. Fiery colors! Then some brushwork (flowers etc.)...it took some work to make the scan of the girls [I don't know their names; never seen/read it] look clearer, but I think it's pretty good. I wanted to have that cloud around them...or steam, whatever it is. XD Just because for some reason I thought of that when I thought "Chinese"! Weird, I know. But maybe it was the steam from the meat buns that triggered that thought...anyhoo, the Chinese characters are just a font set from dafont. I typed randomly. So yeah, fiery steamy Chinese-y.
Well, I guess that's all I have to say. Again, this took roughly 2 hours [about 4 hours after Session Zero revisions!! Which were many!]
[Session Zero: Ok, so now it's here. I guess it isn't that great, huh? Sorry! Yeah, I only noticed the extraction problem much later...*is stupid* I appreciate all comments coming my way so help me improve this wallpaper please!! Thank you!
edit 1: I fixed the extraction quality. Thank you for telling me. I never thought to use the burn tool around the rough/white edges! So I did that, and I smudged everywhere I saw the scan's texture. Now it should be a lot smoother...hopefully ok. I also took out the title and changed some of the Chinese text. I added more smoke to the left side, too. Does it look ok with no official "title" on it?]

dont why i clicked it in the first place
but viewed fully... nice
it has a certain something, a charming radiant aura
guess its the colors
and the bg is swell too
seems to me like extraction still aint perfect, but i cant really complain about it
i also think theres a slight blending issue
to conclude, id say that small improvements would be in place, but i think it looks good now

Orange Tone Colors in This Wallpaper are a Little Dark and Heavy. They are Well-Match for the Heroines' Chinese Dresses and Chinese Characters in the Background.
I Think Their Dresses are not only Sexy but also Classical. Their Conflict Atmosphere is Very Unique and Interesting.
Effects of White Smoke Like Mist are Smooth and Splendid. Changing Tone from Jug to Their arround is Very Realistic and Natural. I Like Your Sence about It.
The Smoke and the Heroines' Cool Face Make The Cute Starrings be More Mysterious and Miraculous.

Great picture of Ichigo Mashimaro! And I love the ginger tones and textures you used this time and combined them with the text in japanese in your wallpaper. But I'm not very convinced of the steam around the characters (sorry, I don't know her names!:() It would be really nice if you could do another version without the steam. That would be perfect!

Greetings and Hello once again! Ok Angel I hate to put a Fave over "Until Next Time" (especially considering I just favorited that one >.<) but I feel I must! This wall is ridiculously and almost obnoxiously cute @.@...
Beyond the characters being so sickeningly sweet i feel diabetes setting in, you did a smashing job on arrangement, composition, color treatment, and technical work. The wall feels nice and clean, good job on the clean up, the colors are nice and warm, really empathized with the steam. The steam and the warm orange give off the warm feeling, and the chinese type, though handled in a westernly fashion, works well. There are many interesting little do-dads here and there, which if over-used could scream gimmick, but this is not the case.
For this wall, you get my download and my fave! I can't resisted the uber-cuteness...
