This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Hello
I got down with some more walling work as i was bored..I got these nice mountain brushes and the okami vectored scan from minitokyo. So i just extracted it.Tryed more than 10 different wallies when i atlast came with this one...I made the mountains, the ground and the sun..Then added some tree tops and the font. The Japanese reads "Okami".And atlast added the sig..Hope you like it..Have fun..
There are several issues that in my opinion require attention.
1. Intergration of the scan into the background: There is absolutely nothing to ground amaratsu and in doing so to tie her to the background so that she appears part of the image rather than an overlayed image. The obvious solution would be to add a shadow.
2. Background depth and construction: To be blunt, a similar effect could be created in a basic paint program within a matter of minutes once a bamboo brush had been located. The background is meant to be your chance to demonstrate talent and artistry. The bulk of the work should as such go into its construction.
Note the methods of shading and layering applied to the character scan to give her depth. Your background at present is devoid of such techniques, albeit a small amount of shading in the two tones of the "mountains".
3. Composition: I get the feeling the sun was introduced so that the sky was recognisable as a sky rather than as a considered element. Given its hue and placement its a distraction to the wallpaper and as such should be reconsidered compositionally.
Remember to challenge yourself when making something new rather than use the same tired techniques and habits. By doing so you'll find your skills will improve and your images will too.
I'd suggest softening the sun to subdue its presence. Because all of the colors are so vibrant around Amaterasu, it actually sorta overpowers her and brings the attention elsewhere. Definitely add a shadow to her, beneath her, in order to make it look like she's part of the picture. And if those are mountains in the distance, the trees should either be much smaller or at the foot of the mountains. Where they are placed now makes little sense mainly because trees don't appear that huge on mountains from a distance.
The image itself is clean and good. Just try a little more creativity to bring more interest to it. It's a great start though. Good luck!
Your wallpaper seems nice but you must addin' more things in the background like [mountains vector pr grasses vector ] you must make the background with diff brushes but its must be vector brushes to makes the wallpaper fit together , anyway .. good luck and i wish i'll see it in AP Gallery :D
Wow! This is one impressive wallpaper! I really like the concept.
As for critiques, I'd say a few textures added to the BG would be nice, as it would make the BG more complex. In another note, I'd like to add that the interaction of the wolf with the BG would really be apreciated.
Other than that, it really is a good wall. Keep going!
The scan is great. I would also agree about removing or editing the sun to make it blend in more and make it more natural.
I like the mountains and the concept, but I think you could add some depth or detail to them. Also, you could probably fix up the forest in the background and perhaps add some cloud effects to the sky.
The concept is great, and I could see you creating an abstract background or a more realisitic one. Either way, I look forward to your next revision.
Good luck.

And yes, I'm still coursing English, so I apologize for my mistakes. ^^~
