While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Gotta love ghibli art. I love this cover, however it never has gotten any love when it comes to wallpapers (well, from what I've seen, i could be very wrong and there is a much better wallpaper than mine with this scan lol). Anywho, took this scan and extended it a ton, keeping that cloud ring to give the scene a more surreal look. I also added more colors/lighting effects, a few textures to make the scene more dramatic, and added a simple sun as well to make it a sunset (rise?) scene. I also outlined nausicaa's black lines to make her pop out more in the scene, so it's not just all blended in.
Haven't had time to make wallpaper in awhile, so hopefully you'll all like it ^_^.
For fairy-wings, my only reason to make nausicaa wallpaper...

EDIT: FINE, since I have to put a detailed comment saying what I think.(because you asked me to) I LIKE THIS WALL A LOT. Colours, texture, lines, theme, everything. It's my fav Ghibli movie, my fav scan out of all the Nausicaa ones. I even drew a fanart of this scan before. DUH I LIKE IT. :P My fav of your Nausicaa walls so far. I'm your #1 fan, isn't it obvious what I'm going to say??
Better throw a fav in too since I fav ALL your walls.. It's like gf's obligation. Hehe.

I've never been a die-hard Ghibli fan before, but I've always greatly appreciated their work. I'm glad to see that there is still much love for Ghibli, especially Nausicca.
I'm glad you went with the existing background, since honestly it's the best choice for the scan. The surreal effect and textures also fit so very nicely with the wall itself. It gives the wall a more aged feel, which I really like. You did a terrific job extending the scan as well, hell, that alone is more than deserving of a favorite. Add in everything else that you did and I found a new wall to put on my desktop. There isn't a single thing about this wallpaper that I'd change about it. It's perfect as is. Excellent work!

That said HDR of course looks good, so this is pretty amazing to remind me of that. I love Nausicaa, and everything else Ghibli, so yeah this is awesome. Looking at your other wallpapers you seem to have the coloring down, or lighting if that makes sense. I also have a few of yours I didn't know about.
