While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

    Dunno...the background still looks kinda simple to me. The biggest problem are the fireworks, they looks like drawed in MS Paint =) Try to find some Photoshop tutorials on the net for fireworks making.
    I also don't understand the white outer glow arround characters. If you can extract good is no need for that. If you wanna overdraw the remaining white parts after extraction, is much better to use Inner Shadow with darkbrown color, with 0 distance,50choke and 1 pixel - effect Darken.
    Yea and in the down part - under the girls in clearly see a part overpainted, looks like a amateur so. Please do somethin about it.

    Mmmmmmm still need some workon it..
    ---->try to make the fireworks more real.
    ---->put some stars on the bg,if you do that, the vector must be a little dark and with some ilimination on the faces,to make more real again...
    ---->Why dont you put a title it will see better maybe(of course a title with come effect).

    I think the bg is simple. The white border can be read as bad extraction even though you did a good job on extraction. The cut-off part of the scan doesn't look artistic. I know you do it on purpose but the edge doesn't blend well with the background. So I think you just remain the original scan

    Getting better for sure! It still needs some work as others have said, but it's a good step upfrom the prior version.

    I agree with them. You should definitely work harder on the background. Those fireworks are too simple. The best thing you can do is to find tutorials about fireworks. And the scan is not very well extracted! Try to change that:3

    Also you can add on the background lot of stars and write some text. It would be better that way!

    Anyway, you chose a very cute picture and the concept is interesting!

    The bottom at girls is erased very ugly. Would not erase absolutely better, and have lowered a little downwards... More aesthetically
