This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I haven't seen enough of this show to know the characters yet, but I liked the art so much, I just decided to make one! I found this in the papers section. Is it just me or does Tenma look like an older version of Kyo from Fruits Basket?
Anywho, if you have seen this scan, then you know it was from a book spread across 2 pages..I had to do some "corrective surgery" to his arm/hand. Yay for guessing..
I put some motion in there with the multiple outline layers, and put the other strip lines in order to draw your eyes across the picture. Also, originally the bottom blue strip and boxes were going to be orange/autumn colors to go with his hair and contrast the blue, but that was working out the way I wanted it to, so I ended up just sticking with a blue scheme. I used this pacman font I had for the "tenma' part..besides the fact that it amuses me, I think it fits pretty well. Not the most readable thing in the world, but it gets the point across.
It's not at all bad, but I'd say there are a couple of areas that could do with some tweaks.
First off the scan seems a little bit grainey. I dunno if that's a texture you applied or that the scan needs cleaning, but given the clean-ness of the bg it doesn't match as well as it could. Second is the very back seems a little bit like the cloud filter and as if you're 'filling space'. I'd probably continue the horizontal lines and boxes theme off into the disance myself, rather than go for any effects.
Last one is I personally am not keen on that font. If just doesn't seem to fit, somehow. Not sure what I'd suggest, though :/.
All just tweaks, I think, rather than any sort of major overhaul :)
You didn't do a bad job on the reconstruction, and i like how you have different colored shadows.
i think the background works, it's a nice color, but the font doesn't really go with it.
I'm totally not knocking anybody when I say this, because it's always good to hear contructive critisicm. but personally I like a more textured look rather then having everything emaculate and smooth. You guys have pretty high standards here, which is why I wanted to try it out, but in the end as long as I'm happy with my wallpaper, that's all that really matters to me.
Very very cool!! I don't know, he seems to smile too naturally in comparison to Kyo, but I haven't seen this anime. Nice wallpaper, love the lines, and your right, it does add a fluid feeling to the wallpaper.
It is good and it is pretty rare to see tenam wallpapers, but maybe the bg not so suitable with the pic and maybe if it is red is better also. But it is really nice i think ^^
Well, good work. I like tenma afterall. but i think it's background are not match with the character. I like his expression, totemo yasashii hitomi wa....How about another character? actually, i can't hardly wait for Abe no yasuaki wallpaper. hehe.

Well I like this wallpaer. I have never seen the show but the guy looks cute...and yeah he sorta looks like Kyo from Fruiys Basket. I like the overall color, background and the scan is just fine. The pacman font could have been replaced with a better one but other than that I give this wallpaper a 10! Great job with everything especially the "constructive surgery"..hehehehe. Keep it up and thanks for sharing.
WONDERFUL! Tenma is my favourite character from Harukanaru Toki No Naka De. ^.^
He really reminds Kyo from Fruits Basket like Pendragon2879 said (the seiyuu is the same for both, what a coincidence).
Well the wallpaper is KAWAII. You really did a great job on the reconstruction (hope I could do the same ^_^').
