This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
whoo new wallpaper =) i made this one for the battleground about... 8 months ago xD well i finally managed to finish it ... it took about hmm 20 minutes adding the text and a few touch ups so i dont really get why the hell did i wait more than a half a year to do that... but oh well...
so about the wall...
the clouds on the left were vectored in illustrator from a stock pic (thats why those are better :D ) and the ones on the right were painted in photoshop without reference ... if i remember correctly :D
also the mountains and the ice (or sea) are vectors too... (this was the time when i vectored like hell and admired limkis from devart like hell :D which i still do so =) )
anyway this scenic style is absolutely not the usually thing that you see from me... thats why battleground is cool cuz it makes you create things that you normally would not =) hope you like it though... =)
thats it, enjoy ^^
Never watched this anime, and honestly I don't like its art, but I do like how you made it. You made the characters seem better than they actually are. Also, I really like that style of vectoring. It is really nice. ^_^
The battleground wall! Ah yes good days. ^_^ Anyway you know i love your walls, and i definitely loved it even when you first showed it back then. The background is painted really well and as usual, your vectors are way past awesome! I have nothing much to say besides that, so i'll just fav. ;D
Very emotional and touching wallpaper. It is so beautiful. The clouds look very realistic, but there are some part on the right that look strange, I can't describe. But still everything else is perfect for me. I like Kenshin a lot so fav for that
Although the two characters don't really look like the original ones, this wall is still breathtakingly pretty ^^ I can't really tell whether it's Tomoe or Kaoru in the wallpaper o.o
You did a great vector with everything - the characters, the clouds and the mountains. The colours blend together so beautifully that I have an urge to print it out and hang it on my wall as a painting ^^ Just that the clouds on the right side seem a little bit too heavy in my opinion, and the bottom right side...a sea? It doesn't seem like one ^^
Regardless, you still did a great job on this wall...definitely a fav from me!
This wall is breathtaking. It's very dynamic, yet smooth and romantic. What caught my eyes was the color combination, my favorite one. The clouds on the right are beautiful, kinda in a dreamy way. It also looks a bit like under water or again, in a high sky.
Nice wall~ like you say those clouds on the left looks better then those on the right but it still looks great! Wonderful atmosphere created there. Reminds me of the scene where kenshin depart to finish some business haha
Wow i love the effects and especially the background! its been so long since i've laid my eyes on some RK stuff, not to mention a long time since i watched/read it. i dont think iq uite finished it thoguh -_-
O my gosh...when i saw it in thumbnail i never expect it to be so artistic...then i realized that it's soo great..so artistic..as if it was made using brush not digitall...four thumbs up..

Kenshin always be my one of the most favourite animation characters~~~ a good trying to change the original background, which I think are the sakura trees, to sea.....

Oh I miss kenshin ^^
Yeah I think the vector blend very well with the background.
I love the vector and it's smooth lines art.
About the meaning of the wall... well maybe red leaves on the left trees would have been more significant about kenshin's bloody past.
But I'm not sure if I understand well your interpretation anyway.
But it's beautiful anyway
The layering and the opacities you used adds a lot of realism and feeling to the scene that I really like, but I have to say that the clouds on the right look really weird. It might just be because you can't see the transition between the light and dark clouds behind the characters.
