I couldn't stick with bright wallpapers for very long, could I? XD Back to my dark and grungy ways! And finally an Air wallpaper. I haven't made one in so long...and here it's my favorite series! *is ashamed* Anyhoo, I don't know why I made this one how I did, but I did. The inspiration certainly didn't come from the scan...I guess I was just thinking darkly! Also, I was listening to Haibane Renmei music, and it's a pretty dark anime that has the motif of crows, too. I saw this scan, and I thought, "Well, I haven't seen that one before! Misuzu in a different art style!" The original is here: http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/scans/AIR/item75627/
So I extracted first, and then I just proceeded to make the background. It's all brushwork, even the texture. I used some grungy brushes and just overlayed a huge stream of them. I also used those brushes and the burn tool on Misuzu. I changed her blending to "lighten" as well...which is different from what I usually do. I think it ended up looking quite cool. Of course there were color and gradient overlays, too. I used some brushes and then the zoom radial blur on them...to create the effect of "whoosh!" XD Zooming through the air!
As for the crows, I searched on Google for crow pics, and then I extracted them, placed them here and there, and blurred them slightly. Oh, and overlayed them. I think they really added that needed touch! I didn't have them in it at first, and it really looked plain. I didn't know what to do though...then, "Ah! How about crows?" :3 Thus, the crows...and the title. Took me a while to decide on the title and how I wanted it. ^^; I hope it looks ok.

I loved the style that you made the wallpaper in, it looks like a very old photograph, and that would suit this anime well because of the storylines, althouhg the background does look a bit too blurry and translucent, the character and the crows in the background are fine I think they should stay just as they are.
The text is also placed in a good position where it won't get in the way of the wallpaper
And about the progress... you were able to make this wallpaper in this fashion from that scan? That is very, very good!

I like the scan you chose, Misuzu is very cute there! And it kind of creates a contrast between the dark background and the cute Misuzu (speaking from seeing this wall, I haven't seen Air so I can't comment about her personality).
The textures are well-chosen too and the difference in depth (I can see it's not covering Misuzu completely) improves the feeling of...abandoned? Evil? Something along the lines of that! The crows look great too, I can't believe you extracted that many images! @_@ I would've gone insane before extracting one!
Those heavy clouds look so scary, almost apocalyptic! Good job on them!
I don't know about the font, though. I hate the font you used to write "Flight of the" with a passion, but that's just my general opinion. It actually fits in here ^^" Just the I'd make it smaller to draw attention to the "Dark Angels" words... Just a piece of advice, it's not that important.

Grunge and dark wallpaper with a realistic touch. What a wonderful wallpaper. The scan you chose, well, I have to say that Misuzu is extremely cute! The textures are good and it improves the background more. The background adds meaning and emphasis more on the character, putting a lot of sad feeling. Well, the BG is not entirely sad, because it kinda gives off a creepy feeling too, but taking a look at Misuzu, you get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Love the wallpaper so much!

A very well done wallpaper. The mist is really done. The part I really like would be the ravens (or whatever they are), at first glance I didn't notice them but after a while I noticed them. Wow quite well done. A fav ^_^

Hello and greetings! Ok Angel, I like this wall you have here, but I think I'm a bigger fan of your brighter work. I see your usual treatment here, and though it is a safety to fall back on, I would suggest trying to branch out, like you did with your last work "Until Next Time." I think that you did such a nice job on that wall personally.
Anywhoo, I don't have too much to say on this piece, but I do say good job, but think about other venues of travel on your journey into creativity. You have a talented eye, and I look forward to seeing what you will produce next time :D
The textures are just awesomely done, normal Air walls are all bright and cheery it's nice to see one more dark and as you said grungy, the brush work is just flawless and I like how you added the crows and reading your little synopsis up there you said Haibane Renmei music? I love that anime and that really caught my eye since some of the inspiration came from that, you did a really nice job. A+ and a fav

The background is excellent,the dark mix brown colours,plus the shadowing clouds design patterns,it looks striking great,the letters in mix of dark and light colours is also very nicely made and the clouds and the background image blends in very well.
The girl's art is wonderful,its very nicely drawn and sketched,the eyes are very cute,her hair is a very lovely blond colour plus the way the girl is positioned is very nice,and she matches with the background very perfectly,her outfit is also very sweet,her face is cute she is definitelywith that cute expression on her face she is very lovely,great artwork,good job well done,its one of my favourite air wallpapers ever,thank you so much,i love it very much^o^
While the wallpaper isn't that filled with effects and all that, I must say I liked how you worked with the pic, specially because of the "Sora" theme (you know, the crows and the dark background).

really good fit with the background. The character look very charming with the way she is standing. She has a very cute face with the beautiful golden hair. I think this was a very lovely done on the wallpaper. You did a excellent on it and very different from all other "Air" wallpapers. I think it good to have different wallpapers so that you have all kinds of wallpapers to choose from. The mood of this wallpaper look great. Overall this was a lovely wall, so keep up the great work on it.
