This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Well, I love ororon. I was reminded how much I love it when some scans came through the queue a while back. I last read the manga like 3 or 4 years ago, and I didn't remember much from it so I bought it.
The wall itself isn't perfect but I really wanted to make a wall for myself using this scan, and I did, but mine looks nothing like this one. I noticed there was only one wall for Ororon, so I decided I'd make another one, even if it was only decent.
The story of Ororon is that Chiaki finds a guy on the side of the road and brings him in help him. Turns out this man she saved is Ororon, the king of hell. He says he will grant her one wish for her kindness, and she asks him to stay with her forever since she is so lonely. he agrees which means he removes himself from rights to the throne, and now everyone from heaven, hell and everything in between is out to kill them. It's a great manga, and you should all read it.
that said, this wall is showing Chiaki and Ororon, and everyone out to kill them.
Yes, she's naked. I actually went through and made an "edited" version but said "screw it. Theres nothing wrong with this scan. it's not perverted or hentai in any way, so why should I censor it?" If people throw a fit, I will upload the edited version, but I'm leaving it as the original for now.
the wall isn't perfect, but I'm satisfied. Ororon has so much negative space, I really wanted to portray that with this one.
I need to do another grunge wall before I explode.
I've always been a fan of wallpapers that use text as one of their main-elements, and this one uses that method fantastically. I also dig the simple look and the heavy use of lighting and contrast.
Nice one. I like how you did all those shadowy figures in the background there. It's really fitting with the title because it really looks like they're out to get them. Another thing that i like about this wall is how it looks simple yet interesting. It's hard to pull off a simple look without making the wallpaper look dull. But you managed to achieve that in this wall. ;D
The manga sounds interesting. Maybe i should get it after i finish my long "mangas to read" list. xD Oh and don't worry about the uncensored thing. There's barely anything there anyway. I've seen more "exposed" walls here in AP and i don't see anyone complaining about it. So i don't see why they would with this one. ^^
Its very strange looking in the thumbnail form.But its really good in full resolution..Great wallapper..I like the background shadows of the people.And the text really goes with the background very much.Great job.Fave+
Unfortunatly my monitor is to dark but from what I can see this wall is absolut amazing.
The couple looks good and I like the idea of their pose. The nakedness is not disturbing cause the important parts are covered.
The lightening is awesome and I really love that you concentrated it on the couple in the middle of the wall. I don't know this show/manga but your wallpaper is perfect.
At first I was like "hmm" Then I was looking at it thinking what to say and the more I was staring at it the more I liked it. I guess it makes more sense after a while. Or maybe it's just me, requiring time to get the main thing.
I think the text could be better but oh well. we all have our own tastes :D

Wow this is a really cool concept. the way you made it so dark yet i can still discern what shapes lay in the dark. very good figure and extremely well designed.
It's extremely provocative and I just love that you took it to the next level, I'm glad you left it alone I like it raw and untouched, it gives it more emotion and feeling like you've fallen into the manga and can see the pain and suffering these to must go through in order to stay together, I like the shadows in the background and the dark aura, after seeing this wall you made me wanna read it. Really great job A++ and a fav
OMG, it's the demon ororon!! I didn't recognize it until I fullviewed it. I love this manga too. The style is a bit different than the usual shoujo manga, but I loved it! I think the art is absolutely gorgeous. I really should scan some of the spreads; they're so pretty * o*

I myself don't know Demon Ororon, but this wallpaper looks more than interresting.
Matching the very outstanding bright part with the darker ones, so that still looks as one image, well that requires somebody with good skills.
And very creepy...a good one.
The font...could be different. But only my opinion.

Actually i find it very interesting as a wallpaper. It is very clear to me now that minimalism can show despair despite the lack of elements. The use of the characters in front, while the rest are in the back, as shadows makes the feeling even more intense.
I don't think i got to say more as is is going staight to my favs^^
The Demon Ororon is one of my favorite series and you managed capture the beauty of it in this. Hakase Mizuki is an amazing artist. I was surprised to find so little of her series' on here. BUT! I'm quite happy with this. =] I'll be using it.
