This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I'm quite new this so I decided to keep it light and simple and took me quite a long time since i hadn't use photoshop in a while. I think despite its simplicity, it still took me 3 hours with minor distractions.
What I wanted was something light and simple so my desktop icons could be easily seen, however, i also wanted a lot of free space as didn't like it when my icons would start to cover my picture.
The result was nothing similar to how i thought it would end... i had started with yuuki cross from vampire knight but then i found this background randomly and thought I'd use it. But it didn't match so I used this picture drawn by naru nanao which to me, fitted really well. Afterward, I experiemented with other character s, textures and filters and eventually it ended like this.
Overall, I like how It's been spaced and the colours involved but i think that how i placed the text was strange...yet i couldn't decide where else to put it.
So please feel free to suggest what you feel would make this better or just explain what's just outright bad or wrong.
Nothing is better as a nice clean wall. You used too strong patterns. If the background is not very sharp, why you don't vector it? Is a better solution as hiding it with some effects.
The effects are too sharp, you can edit it a bit. There's to much white on right, fix it a bit. Um, I think it's better if you don't use the white effect, because it covered the image. I like your idea to put her on bridge like that. She's like having walk on summer.
Hi,
to miriambr's comment i like to add that the character is a little bit transparent.
The bg seems a little bit too white, maybe it helps to add some yellow parts to make it look like an old postcard, (i think something like that is expressed). As a additional result the arrangement would be a little bit warmer.
All in all a cool summer mood wallpaper ^_^

User Comments!
I just not really like the white lighting or pattern you have there...
reduce it, I suggest...
good luck anyway...
But more important: there's a part missing in the scan, in the bottom left (the dress)
Keep up the good work!^^
