The amount of patience, hard work and an eye for quality is what defines this wallpaper. Character is painstakingly vectored off a real life toy image with references to screenshots. Despite the difficulty level, ~pvc24 still manages to nicely depict the image in anime fashion and yet able to find the mental strength to come up with a background composition that is both aptly fun and pleasant in atmosphere.
*Yawn*
I'm tired, but I'll submit this anyway. I always loved the original image of Sano that I used for this wallpaper. I love his pose, the look on his face, and how everything is monochrome and flows together...So I vectored him and decided to keep him in black and white because I don't see how this image could have worked in color.
For the background, I used a variety of cloud brushes and an actual picture of Japan (Shinjuku to be more precise...yes I know the story takes place in Tokyo...at least I think so...anyway...), and used a tutorial to render it like a "manga background". I really like the end result... I think it's one of my best wallpapers yet.
In case you're wondering where the title for this wallpaper came from, it happens to be lyrics from the Depeche Mode song, "Something to Do". Yes, I'm a DM fan and it's not the first time I incorporated their lyrics in my wallpapers.
Very nice work, I do love his expression and the black and white is very classy the vectoring is really great and I love that the background city is a real photo. The only thing is the resolution is off it needs to be a bit bigger then it would be perfect. B+
REALLY RALLY NICE WALLPAPER, THE BLACK ANT WOTH TOUCH ARE VERY ELEGANT AND AWSOME, I DONT HAVE ANY WORD FOR THE BOY (RENDER) XD, BUT IS NICE, GOOD JOB CONTINUE WITH THIS, BYES
I LOVE the scan you chose! Great vector. The monochrome idea is really good too.
But I think that the background has way too much details in comparison to the guy there. There is a lost of the "feel". His posture is also very expressive and strong, so a darker and stronger background would convey the idea better.
At first look... I thought "Hmm... lack contrast in the sky... because his skin is so white it's distracting"... but after reading the title for the 2nd time... I feel it's really fitting the theme you pursued :D
Nice vector, and strong presentation through the font on the top... although I suggest you position it a little bit lower, because Macintosh users would unintentionally block a part of the typo with their docker bar. Don't worry.. it would not change the overall look of the wall if at all, in my opinion. Windows users should be fine though... there's a lot of space at the bottom to put stuff..
