This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
While I know this is an old scan of Ishida, I felt like making a somewhat urban city theme, with a touch of music, since he has head phones on ;). So I went along creating a a very rough vector of some buildings, and vectored a speaker box, scaled it up and faded it in the background. Added some halftone patterns and used another building vector from GoMedia's freebies (really handy stuff). I went with some paper texture to create the cut-outs, and fill the text. This wall was done combining Illustrator and Photoshop :P. Oh.. and I like green'ish colours XD.
Well I freakin love Ishida so this is already a fav in my book, I like the colors and all the vectoring you did really shows, I like the textures and the urban theme you were going for really fits the scan. Nice job. A- and a fav
Green is not your enemy lol. Great wall, although the green in the lower left corner is a bit too... hmm, I don't know the name of that shade... let's say it's a little too bright, and not that green, but that's not something to bit*h about too much :) And it definitely deserves a fav.
Beautifull wallpaper is really cool and elegant, I love the bruehes, the effects are awsome, gradients and font looks terrific and finally the render very coolllll
Interesting use of colors...XD Green's a nice color, but I don't quite like the white cracky edges around Ishida. Other than that, the composition is really cool, the buildings too, and the design looks great!
I tend to distant myself from walls that are related to bleach these days -- don't get me wrong, the series was good, until the aftermath of the SS arc, and ever since then my interest has pretty much been diminished. This wall can be an exception though, since I'm a big fan of the simplistic-contemporary design. The way how you incorporated the urban feel is great, and it really does suit the theme. To be honest, green doesn't appeal to me at all, but it also doesn't affect my liking towards this wall. Awesome work! ^^
