This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Get loco, get Creative, be original, stand out, live life to the fullest, do things you regret, do things youre scared off, and enjoy life!
Maybe not the best way to start the 'why highlighted description' but this wallpaper is something different but is something that imo has never been seen before on AP. Simplicity and the guts to be different, but being different in the perfect way. Simplicity trough leaving objects away and sticking to the core!
And somehow reminds me also of the beloved companion cube from portal :P
EDIT: 4/21/08
I realized this morning I used the wrong blending mode on the knob shadows (soft light instead of hard light) when I was converting the file. It's fixed now.

An entry to Simple-ism'sminimalism project.
I originally drew this katamari for work. A team wanted to incorporate a katamari in their internal logo, and one of the graphic designers, knowing I liked Katamari (as evidenced by my previous Katamari walls on my work desktop) tapped me to create it for them. Hence the usage of Google primary colors, the blobby highlights and bold outlines. It reminded me of another illustration I did that involved bowling for Lava Lamps. Except that bowling with a katamari would result in some... interesting outcomes. I thought it was an amusing idea so I took the katamari and added some bowling pins to them to create this.<
"This is how we bowl" is a phonetic pun on "this is how we roll" -- and this is certainly bowling, Katamari style.
Inspiration for the wallpaper comes from the clean and minimalistic Google style. And all the amazingly awesome Google icons my coworkers create.
This is awesome! The simple, bold colors/lines really make the wallpaper stand out. I love Katamari so this wallpaper definitely gets kudos for that. I love the pun. Very cute. Congratulations on a really wonderful wallpaper.
Its NICE!
its very different, which makes it stand out from the group, it simple yet something in it makes you wanna click it and see what it is, nice colors, and nice vector
There's nothing much I could say other than that the design and concept works well. Using bowling pins and the sticky ball makes it entertaining to see. Wish I have played the game but even I who have only seen gameplay footage can identify with it and recognize it.
Oh a new highlight o:
Well, it's cute, clean, and creative (i shall shorten that to the "3 C's" ). But I dunno about a highlight. @_@ sorry! No offence or anything D: cus your walls are nice, and I could think of a tone more that would have made awesome highlights. ;3 But congrats for the 2nd highlight, and I like the idea.
Lol! This wallpaper is so creative and yet so simple! It's minimalist and I like it!
The pins getting stuck to the ball looks like a comparison to a bowling ball except the bowling ball would be the "sticking" ball that sticks pins instead of hitting them!
anyway, nice work!
btw I enjoy playing Katamary Damacy and bowling! :D
