This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wallpaper was at first an experimentation web layout, using my own resources. But then, it was too blended to be a web layout, so I changed it to a wallpaper. It then became more abstract and darker. All the resources I've used were made my me, except for the image. I made it look letterbox, since the wallpaper didn't look that right.
I don't know why, but I'm a bit obsessed with the theme of blood, even though FFVII don't show a lot of blood. This wallpaper looks really bloody to me... :P
EDITED :
- Fixed Yuffie and made her more paint-like
- Added some more colour
- Made the vectors less visible
- Plus others... ^^
I don't know much about FF VII but anyway, this is good wall.
Colors are great, but text is hard to read. Maybe it can be little brighter so its easier to read.
Wow - very nice. Yuffie never stuck me as a very 'dark' character, but with the way you set this up I can definitely imagine it. *grins* Yuffie herself is done very smoothly, and I think you cut it off at just the right point - so you can see her slight smile, but not the eyes. That makes for a much creepier, more mysterious effect, which works well here.
The patterns in the back are also very interesting - it reminds me a bit of fingerprints or the woods at night, and even more of Silent Hill. I've never really thought of Final Fantasy as bloody either, but as it does work for this particular wall.. *shrugs*
"Finder of Light" - very ironic in this particular piece, ne? That font, combined with the rest and all in red, adds an even greater sense of irony, as well as an odd note of resignation - if she's supposed to be a 'finder of light,' well... *grins* All in all - well done.
Amazing effects! I like this wallpaper a lot, it looks very different from any other wallpaper I've ever seen. I wasn't too thrilled about the wide screen look though but I can understand why you did it because otherwise the wall would look too crowded. Well at least that's what I think anyway. It's really a nice wallpaper + fav for me!
