This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
That's right, don't be shy: three, two, one... *camera flash*
Well, as you can see from Haruhi's smile, it seems a bit 'cheesy' and somewhat mischievous, hence the title 'Cheesy Days'. (according to ~DarkAliaz, Haruhi looks freaky, I disagree. :D)
Oh yes, simplicity is the way to go, though minimalistic, the wall soaked up quite some time. Don't worry, the block of cheese is there for a reason (pun effect).
Vectoring Haruhi (the original scan can be found here) was like a yoyo (haven't encountered one of those in ages), 'cause I can't generate the motivation to constantly outline and colour. Don't fret, it wasn't all that bad; the eyes were pretty fun, though I was worried at first, since KyoAni's style of eyes seem difficult and complex -- it's actually simple.
I adore simplicity, 'cause it's cool and stylish, with a hint of professionalism. I wanted to incorporate the three aspects, and did exactly just that, with a sprinkle of cheese, of course. The 'H' on the right obviously denotes 'Haruhi' and as for the block of cheese, go figure.
XD I LOVE her expression~~! (And yes it DOES look cheesey. >3)
The vector is beyond amazing... the Haruhi Suzimiya-style of eyes is extremely unique and very hard to vector, but you did it perfectly. *o*
The cheese is juust the right size, and I think it's so cool how you mirrored her head in the background to emphasize her expression.
I find abstract backgrounds so hard to do, especially simple ones, but you pulled it off. :D
This is hilarious beyond words, epic I might say!
Cheesiness is definitely what Haruhi's about most of the time so yeah... This goes right on!
Congrats on this idea that's so fit!
The vector is great as usual and the bg is simple and cheesy which goes with the whole cheesy thing. I like the whole concept and the cheese but...I don't know...the cheese looks out of place. Never mind, it’s probably just me thinking that.
BTW: Haruhi does look a bit freaky, almost evil looking.
Wow, what a beautiful wallpaper! I don't know quite where to start.
I really love the way you've termed the wallpaper "Lovely Evening" and the wallpaper is a very Northern Lights esque piece, so the natural mystery of the lights is very fitting. I think, in real life the Northern Lights are quite spectacular, and with this wallpaper, with all the stars and beautiful colours in the sky, that is what makes this so good.
Theres a nice aura of friendlyness too around this, the colours are blended so nicely and the smooth curves and blended edges really do give a soft subtle friendly feel to it. So lovely!
The scan is beautiful again - and the extraction is excellent. I also think the shadows on her dress are quite different - I'm not sure how many people on here would forget to put shadows in, or don't think they matter, but it has really added to the piece!
Another thing that I think is excellent about this wallpaper is the pattern of the metal fencing - its so intricate, but yet does not take away too much attention from the overall image. The texture on them is so realistic as well, as this really helps to set the scene.
I think personally, there are too many things with this wallpaper to comment on, and that everything that has been done has been done with steady, patient, loving hands. This truly is a fantastic wallpaper.
Thank you for submitting, and hope to see many more!

I actually just got done watching this anime for the first time not too long ago, and thought it was pretty great -- like this wallpaper here you did. It fit the anime itself so well, that one would think you had just posted an image from the opening here.
