First off, whatever you do, VIEW THE WIDESCREEN!! I don't recommend critiquing based off of the other resolutions. They're disasters. There's stars everywhere. See, this was my first time making a widescreen wallpaper...and it's not like I was planning to; it's just that the image I chose to vector aided itself to being, well, wide. -__-; And then when it came for me to make the other resolutions...I didn't know what to do to make it look "good." :( Sorry. Anyhoo, yes, another vector by me...crazy! And here I said I never wanted to make another one again. Oh well. This time for real, last one. I wanted to make one really badly of this screenshot from Ichigo Marshmallow, of the first eyecatch/commercial break/intermission...that in itself took me forever because my stupid DVD program was refusing to take screencaps!! Here's the original:
So then I began to vector...umm...100's of shape layers, and probably about 10 normal layers. It was all those wretched squares that irked me. And then doing all the little keychain plushies of the characters took a while, too. At first I was just going to focus on them, but I loved how Nobue looked...just seeing her back like that made it seem neat [and the checkerboard pattern caught my attention]. ^^; My favorite of the keychains was probably Matsuri, the one with glasses. Hehe. She looks like a turtle or something. XD So yeah, the vector took work over several days...maybe 10+ hours, I don't remember. Overall, my favorite part was actually the title's "patch" on her skirt! I liked writing "Ichigo Mashimaro" and then making it stand out more than in the original...with the stitching and shadows. :3
I wanted to go for a handmade, patchwork sort of style with this...hence the "stitching". Hence the atrocity that you see here! I realize that it isn't the best...and like I said the 1600x1200 and 1280x1024 resolutions are Hell on Earth. :( But I put a lot of work into this to make it stand out from my usual! I wanted to do something "different," and I think I succeeded...though I don't know if anyone will like it or not. Umm...the background's texture was found at desktopanime.com...that's the only place I used for sources other than default Photoshop things! If you're wondering, I use PS 7.0. ^^; So it kinda sucks. Um, for the stars, I cut them out of her skirt's pattern.
I'm not sure what else to say, other than I hope you guys like it! It probably won't be "popular" and I'll probably get a lot of negative critiques, but I have to learn how to accept that more...*has really low self-esteem* This took about, well, if you include the vector's time...12 hours or more?? I don't know. Enjoy! Thank you for your time!
Well you no I love your wallpapers girl and I think this one is great, I love the colors and unique perspective, the patterns are so cool and funky fresh, the cute little charms add awesome detail and red is my favorite color so that's a plus to. Great wallpaper A++ and a fav
I'm rembering this scene - it was always in the middle of the anime. Nice vector anyways, I love nice skirts :3 The keychain is really outstanding and cool red-black combination.

Awwww Ichigo Mashimaro! Very cute wall; you made a nice improvement on the original(from the commercial lead-in); the background is simple, but effective and the little key chains are very cute. :)
I think you know how to pick images that are good for wallpapers 8)! Your vector is good! Now it may be time for you to start making the lines vary in width. That way, the vector looks more like it's drawn than traced. Oh, but why say that this is the last time you will vector? Do it if you want to or if it needs to be done, haha.
I like Matsuri the best in here too, haha, so cute! Hm, I know you were trying to keep with the original colors, but I think that the dolls are too dull for such a cute wallpaper. Their skin is gray and I think that takes away from the cuteness. And I also think that Nobue is wearing too much red (not really your fault). I think that makes her body and the background confusing since there is even more red and black. Perhaps if you changed Nobue's shirt color or the colors of the star patches (which are really cute), it would be less confusing and more things can stand out but not take attention away from the dolls. It's also a bit confusing because the brown in the back is really similar to the skin color. I don't really know how to explain it, but it seems that there is a lot going on even though there isn't much really going on. I still think the wallpaper is good. I just think it would be better if the colors were played with! And that's what's keeping me from faving.
I Love it!!! XD! This is a really good one Zakuro-chan! I made a really good work with the vector and the textures fit perfectly, you're getting better and better, keep it up!
