This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wallpaper was made expecially for 'Guardian Spriti's' first contest: 'Know that I am'. The contest itself didn't get much participation but that's alright. Everyone still has a life outside of AP.
Now, this wallpaper had one vision. To have a 'family' running towards God/Jesus. Mainly, because the orginal translation of the verse Pslams 100 3-5 had the word 'generations' in it. So, that's what I was going for. I was thinking of more of a 'court yard' scene because of how it was stated in the orginal translation I read. Then I found this translation: 'Contemperary' : and I loved how it said 'temple'. So, this is God/Jesus/Holy Ghosts temple that these characters are running to. Yes, this wallpaper has nothing absolutly nothing to do with Vandread. To be honest it was the only scan's I could find that had the characters running. It was a lot harder to find then I thought.
So, I worked on it a while got feed back from Wisper2dawind, Hakusa, Nee-san84, and August199. So, I fixed what they seen then I let it set a while. Then on the 4th of July, 2008; I found the zone and went for it. Creating this wallpaper as you know it in just a few hours. It was breathtaking. Completely, breath taking. Then I waited for another wallpaper to go thru so, this could be my #10 wallpaper. Its my lucky number! Then I looked at it again... wouldn't you know it. I forgot to put the verse on it. *sighs*
Oh, and the carpet that turned into the cross was not intentinoal. I needed something to take up space and help the text be readable. I added it and seen what it made. *^_^*heh
The technical side of it goes like this: Brushes from DA; Texture from Desktop-Anime; Staircase image from a google search. Then I vectored it. Hand image came from Flixc. Then I vectored it. Then I used whatever cool effects that I knew of that GIMP could use. *^_^*

I also have a 'Jesus Hands' wallpaper done. but I have to add the 'verse' into it just like I had to do this one. Once that's done I'll add it. Posted in the spoiler.
Nice concept, angel-earth! ^^ You really had a great idea out there. It's just Jesus' hands. Some details on it won't hurt the wallpaper. ^^ And also the light, uhmmm... its quite too bright for me and too straight I guess. Make it a little blurry and scattered somehow, it will be great. Anyway, I like the sort-of galazy background out there. Overall, its a good wallie. ^^
I really like the idea and how you made the cross. The hands are alright and everything works quite well. This wallie's characteristics remind me of Neon Genensis Evangelion. The only thing that in my opinion does not make the wallpaper 100% effective is Dita's pose, she's not particularly running, and that spoils the "running idea" a little. I read that you had a hard time finding the right images and I imagine there were none of Dita running towards the camera. Maybe you could have left her out...But all in all you didi a good job!

@PuppyDotty: To be honest Dita is my favorite character out of the whole wall. She shows the joy and excitement for being near God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. Thats what I love the best. She stirs it up a little. I know I'd be a jumper myself!!
Thank the Lord. He is Risen! Great job!! Everyone always has time to express their faith, and you did a good job by spreading it on AP. I really am impressed by your walls. Btw, I cant quite read what is in the middle, but I know it must be something good. ;)
