After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
Authemis, I've been in a school, in a classroom, that has guys (and no girl student) for about 5 years. So, whatever it is, may not surprize me. TheReject, where were you for sometime?
The year is 2019 and Neo Tokyo stands upon the shambles of an artificial island in Tokyo Bay. Violence rules the streets.
I'm not usually into older looking anime, but when I came across this movie, Akira on On Demand, I decided to watch it. To my amazement, it was an amazing movie (and it was even dubbed in English..and yet it was still good...it's hard to pull that off). I usually like newer "cuter" anime, but every once awhile, my desire for dark violent anime kicks in... I can't get over how much I now like this series...
Ok...to the wallpaper. Let me tell you...this was the hardest wallpaper I've done to this date. The older style of anime outlines and shading took a long time. How long you ask? 55+ hours alone on the outlining... Over the course of 5 days...that's like 11ish a day... Now I plan to make up a ton of sleep. ^_^'
Details:
Time Spent: 55+ hours Outlining, 4 hours Coloring and Finishing.
Difficulty: 10/10
Hardest Part: Outlining (It took FOREVER!)
Easiest: Coloring? haha. Even though that was pretty tedious... :nya:
Scan Used: Link.
Part Changed: As you see, I had to change the layout.
Please Please tell me what you think...I spent a crapload of time on this and it would be nice to get some feedback. Thanks. :D
Oh yeah, sorry only wide-screen. I don't want to crop anything off.
Oh well.. the kid looks really really ugly...not cute or dark... lol
neways the scene was what caught my eye
This wallpaper looks really unique too.
hmmm.. and considering the amount of time you spent on this, I really applaude you for your patience in doing this... lol
and well i guess you could have added a few tit bits of your own instead of just repositioning the people. like a little bit of blood and some creative use of textures would have really given this wall a much better feel.
The only con I can point out in your wall is that it seems a bit too clean and clear for a really gruesome and violent scene.

As a vector waller myself I'm bowing before your hard work. Whoa, 55 hours just the outlines. I think me biggest was 26 hours, but that was the whole wallpaper. The choosen scene is good and I don't mind the "ugly kid" there.
Thank you for sharing, we really need more Akira walls.

This is one of those walls that you see on the front page of animepaper and go "oh, that looks interesting" and then when you take a closer look, go "woah O_o .. oh wow" and perhaps turn away... But for the amount of time that you spent on this, this wall is not getting the attention it deserves - at least not in my opinion. Yea, old anime styles aren't quite that popular, except for those that like that classic feel, but I personally find this piece very appealing and there're things about it that attract me to it.
The details and the lineart are mesmerizing. and simply fantastic. I can see the work and the time that you put into it, and I think that it's seriously being depreciated here. You worked with the scan very well, and until I actually took a look at the original scan, I would not have been able to guess that the boy and the soldiers lying on the ground had ever been in two different places.
The lines and the colours are very clean and very crisp, and the slight texture, I think, is also a nice touch, but I disagree with what vampirebuster666 said about the kid and the wall being "too clean and clear". Instead, I feel that the lack of cuteness or darkness of the boy brings out the stark sincerity of his expression, and the same goes for the cleanliness and clarity. It's as if the lack of blood and grime and filth actually brings out the reality of it better - as if the crispness says this is real and this is what is actually going on, and it brings out the morbidity and darkness even more in essence.
Good work, and although I've never the biggest fan of old anime - or really a fan at all (frankly, I actually -detest- it), this piece really stood out to me, and I liked it. Keep it up, and I look forward to seeing new wallpapers from you in the future ~
You did a great job on the wallpaper, but i think you couldve picked a better scene. Everyone keeps saying he is "the ugly kid" but this child is AKIRA, and that is what makes the pictures so dark. Maybe some of you young kids should actually go out and read some of the older mangas, becuse Akira is is one of the top mangas of all time.
I say read the manga becuse it is totally different from the anime movie, since they only protray the boy as a spirit is the anime, which is pretty corny.

Very gruesome, dark, and shadowed by thought.
It's a good concept, and incredibly well done.
this wall is one of the best
i ever seen

Thanks for it!
