This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Let me offer a few words of advice. The wallpaper is really bland. I know you say you worked hard and everything, but looking at the original scan, it seems that you might have been better off cleaning up the scan instead of vectoring it if it took you a whole week to produce. Your vectoring took away much of the detail of the original scan, like the colorful houses in the background (even though it's night time, there would still be more detail and color than just a blob behind the bridge) and some important things, like the transparency of the creature. Without these things, it just seems like a very unappealing and plain -- two reasons why someone wouldn't use it on their desktop. I suggest you try another method for making wallpapers, as vectoring doesn't seem to be for you. That, or try harder to put detail in your vectors to at least make them stand out from basic shape tracing.
I have to agree wtih BzzX on some points--it's a little bland and it's really missing a lot to make it an exceptional wall. first off, i think the bridge is wayy too oversimplified and it looks like a little kid drew it--it has been stripped of all the details and things that made it look good in the first place. something else i want to add is you could have tried to clean up no-face's outer edges of his face a little better, i can see alot of rough and jagged edges. basically everything is just too oversimplified and as some people like simple walls, i think this is a bit overdoing it. although i do really adore the coloring, i love how it gives off a surreal and dreamy feel. and i'm only saying all of this because i hate sugar-coating. i'm giving you the raw truth and what i truly think. so please don't be too offended by criticism--it can only help you(: all in all, i don't think its amazing or anything and i'm not sure if i would be able to live with it for a month XD but i do appreciate all your work put into the vectoring(:
Mm, I agree with all that has been said above, so I don't see a point in mentioning it all again.
I have two problems:
You failed to make No Face translucent down his body like it shows in the scan. I think it would have looked better if you had added that detail.
And secondly, I really don't like those annoying black bars you put on the top and bottom of the piece. It's not that hard to just fill in those areas with the scene, rather than filling in blank space with melancholic black bars.
That's all I have to point out. Hope you take the advice. =)
Hmmm .. i really don't agree with Bzzx's comment!
i think his comment is really harsh so i tell you that don't listen to him when he told you that you shouldn't vector again! in my opnion he's really overacting for saying such a things .
so don't worry AG because your wallpaper is way too much better than the original scan =)
and i think that your vector is so wonderful and you did really an awesome job ^^
i love the coloring the most! < 3
Keep doing vectors AG and don't give up ;)

It's a good vector what you did here, AG. Agreed with Bernie about the vector of No Face. A little additional detail could be realy useful there. Anways the rest is done very well.
Hehe whar to say i like it) looking through all miss of vectoring i think you did a good wall and most of all keep going your vectoring skills come better and better)
I love the colour of the sky... the different colours of blue all mixed together as the background colour, with the shiny dots of stars...
thanks for sharing!!
