This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Anyway. . .
this is the image i used. . .
about the size. . . THAT IS THE SIZED I USED!! ( i couldn't see any large scans of this)
i was having a hard time since i had to enlarge it, and of course by enlarging it. .
. . .
the image is kinda blurred, so i can't see the exact details, which was the hardest part of making it. . . the houses are also a pain, there's so many details, so i didn't put the others because i couldn't see the design. . . so i had to IMPROVISE' some pictures in the scan
anyway, i really like the colors and the simplicity of his work (especially this). . i loved the seahorse moon. . .
NOTE:
anyway, the one above is the textless version:
i prefer this than that above, the only reason i put it here is because of the darn artifacts when i convert it to jpg. (darn it! everytime i convert it, artifacts appear and ruin it!) i wish ap v6 WOULD accept png.'s
I think you should have kept the lineart around the girls body, especially the face. She blends too much into the bg. D: Mmm.. and the top of the umbrella looks kind of awkward without the white ball on top. Still, nice job working with such a small image. :D Just minor things that can be fixed easily and imo it would be purrrfect.
Nakamura is a wonderfull artist, his asian kung fu generation work hasreally put him on the map - now if he only would take commissions...for cheapskates like me.
This piece really caught my eye. The composition is very unique and I really commend your effort for working it out from such a small scan. However, I think the girl is lacking detail. Maybe, you should add some lines especially on her clothes. Also, it would be nice if you could change the color of her shirt so it's not the same as the color of the walls.
I simple love art from yusuke nakamura, they're so fantastic and yours is too not bad.
I like this ornate city. This looks very interesting, really amazing job, make it from so little picture ,this must be hard, but it cost for it.Keep it up.^^
