This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Finally I finished this wallpaper. I designed it for the "Countries" Contest by the Forget Me Not group here on AnimePaper, and the style should represent the Arabian countries (not specified, they are looking almost same for me :P) Haha, so somebody did something else as Japan. (what a cliche...doing Japan XD)
And also the Yu Yu Hakusho category is really low on wallpapers, and this cool anime needs more! If I finish my current projects, maybe I add another one.
As you see is fully vectored. The whole vector (characters, background, birds) costed me exactly 1313 layers.
The worst was to vector Hiei, for his black clothes - I barely have seen what I vectored, some outlines I guessed only :P His sword vector was combined with Satin effect, to make a really good looking shiny-goldy sword.
Except the sword are a lot of others changes too (I mean compared to the original scan, due his low quality and incorrect colors) Background made with gradient + some shading + some textures. Maybe simple, but I like it. Changed the boulder color to "sand-style" and added 3% noise to them. Pretty colorful and requires less icons on your desktop.
Yea and is my first wall with male characters XD
Originally I made a background with Terragen, but it didn't turn out well. As people mentioned, it looked a bit real, and in my opinion the perpective and the style was wrong. Yu Yu Hakusho is a anime with older drawing style, so a more easy background is better suited.
And want to thank all people for tips and cheering for me: chibimisao, kaizor88, angel-voice, damoser, Bernouli, fye-lover, arthurgomes and my best buddy, Gatoi.
PS. Often mentioned people me that I'm doing too many loli or chibi walls :P So I decided to do 3 "fighting/guys with weapons" style walls in this year. Enjoy the first!

Bishies! ~~ :D
I like that you left the sky empty, clouds would make the wallpaper too busy. Best part of the wall = seagulls!
Vectoring Hiei must have been a challenge, it's always a bother when you can't see the lines clearly.
the bg is better this way, i'm glad you dumped the terragen bg. also the fact that you didn't add detail to everything makes it simple and clean, yet it's not simplicity, so it's omewhat of a fusion.
Mines third. Looks like you put work in puttin this together.
Hiei looks kinda not like himself but thats ok. Background is decent but I didnt get what the birds are for.
Keep up the Good Work.
It looks really fantastic.
I absolutely love it.
I love the effect you achieved: You made the vector see very nate ordering the colors in a very nice way. All seems very beachish.
I really love your wall.
And its vector is somewhat looking different than the others, or maybe better.
You did a good job on this wall...but one thing strikes me as..odd.Why are there seagulls in the desert? It looks good and all but if you think about it its weird lol .
Wow! You definitely don't see many YYH wallpapers these days. This is a pleasant surprise, although I never really watched it. Yet again, you have made a wonderfully complex vector! I don't know how you have the patience for these. Everything looks perfect! I can imagine that Hiei's outfit would be hard...it's all black...you can only see some differences in shading, but you did it! ^_^ I also like the bg and how you made the columns gold instead. Very great job!!
The first thing that caught my eye in full view were the pillars; they're very detailed (I bet you wanted to kill them XD). I love it when wallers put a lot of detail into small things like that. It always makes the finished product shine. I also like the use of seagulls flying rather than using clouds.
I usually don't go for 'busy' walls with a lot of characters, but this is definitely an exception. Wonderful job. I hope to see more YYH walls from you. +fav
I love Yu Yu Hakusho and there really aren't enough walls from it, wow that's tons of layers very impressive, I love how sharp the colors are, perfect outlines and very clean cut background I love everything about it. That's all I can say A+ and a fav
That's it aki. You know I told you not to use real BG nor too exaggerated ones. Though, keeping it like the scan would give you a B-, and that's what you gained, isn't it?
It's a overwhelmed work to gain only B-. I mean, the score is right, but I think you spent too much labour with it. At the end, it's like the scan, and those black clothes are just unreal and don't fit well.
Usually, working on PS-CS2 is always worth it because of experience. It is indeed what you gained here, though the idea wasn't interesting. As you said, this is old drawing, "old school anime" I say, and it would awesomely difficult to make it as interesting as newer drawings.
In my opinion, a bloody difficult and overwhelmed labour for a simple work.
Really nice wallpaper ranyo. The vectoring you did is great and so is everything from your lighting effect to your colouring and outline of the scan during vector. The scans do show the country Arabia if you look at them but i still dont find the main point of it being Arabia.it can be the Sahara Desert as well ^_~.So lol all i am saying that surely the scan looks good but there has to be a background to justify what you are saying and make the scan blend even more. This one looks as if the stone is falling in mid air O_O.Lol not being bad but just a comment to make you better next time ^_^.Though you have done a great job
Fave++ for the vectoring (i am too lazy to do such a big vector :P)
