This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Wow, this wallpaper is simply gorgeous. LOL. Really, everything blends together so well that the overall gloom effect is quite tangible. Firstly, the background that you made is in such complete harmony with the expression of the character’s face that it not only matches well with the original character image but also enhances it tremendously.
And adding all the tribal like symbols to those pillars just brings to life what otherwise would have been an ominously stagnant scene. From the dynamically lit symbols to the great shadow play going on all over the room to the slight hint of mist; the whole wall just seems to pulsate with hypnotic life, and that’s hard to do with a dark wall. Awesome wallpaper.
Oooh... very neat. x3
I love how you combined so many stocks and brushes together to make such a cool background~
The fog/mist adds a very nice effect. *o*
My only complaints are: the bottoms of the pillars ruin the sense of depth you'd managed to create. They just seem "flat".
Second, (especially in the thumbnail) it just seems too dark to see all the detail you went through so much trouble to add. Messing around with the contrast/brightness just a little might have fixed that.
A really good made wallpaper. I agree with Doki about the background, is a little bit flat, some transforming could do the thing. And for my taste is also a bit dark, but that just by personal opinion. The resolution 1280x960 is fair, but you could attract more people with 1600x1200.
Wishing you luck with your wallpapers in the future, and this one also a nice piece in overall.
So I give you a:

the choice of useing soren just came from the fact it was originally a wall of Mia but as i made it darker she didnt fit anymore...and he did
i used these pillar brushes for detailing my pillars which originally came from this stock photo thing
other brushes i was too dumb to save the source for include brushes used to make the cracks and mist along with the tress in the back
