This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Well...
I know so well that my walls are so different of the usual ones (that anybody likes), but it's my own style (yeah, maybe a lot weird than anybody here). And yeah... my last wall was a total failure, and really i feel a little depress about that... but that's my sad life... :D
I really like to put here this one in session zero because i like some criticism about this work. Because this wall really was made to fit my own desktop, and that's all... and, i only finish my last four months for my calendar, and i really didn't do again any wall... most likely i only will do vectors for my friends in the net (even if their like).
Feel free to criticism my little vision of my world... i really appreciate those good points and bad points that you did! I really appreciate!
Spec's:
Vector of Oriha (Sekirei No. 101) made in Illustrator CS3
Scan obtained from the raw of the Sekirei manga (if you like to view that scan, you can download the scan of the chp. 65 in KMTS via IRC, and all ready scanlated!)
The last part (the bg and the efx's) made in photoshop CS3
Well, that's all... and for my last words in this wall... It's so good that the sekirei anime comes in july! I really like some parts of this anime! (now i can see the original colors of yomi!).

To iamfreeska : well, i really have a hard time with the mouth, because it's difficult vector the manga scans. (but, i also did something about your comment, but i ended putting like the original one :( )
To fye-lover: Yeah, i know about that... but some times i lack of imagination, time and almost patience to do more strands of shading in the hair, more if the scans not have that... maybe in the future one... (because i found another one of oriha that looks superb), about the blur in the blades... Added! :D (not too much but... well...)
This one is good -- in toning -- it is an excellent picture to be a wallpaper. However, the content seemed to be unbalanced -- the dark space over the right. overall a good 1.
Yayz! I finally get to see it in the gallery ^.^ I can see the blur you added on the blades - now it looks really nicer < 3 Also, have I mentioned that the star field and the background looks superb? You did a great job with her eyes too~ As for the hair, the gradients work okay, but I think she will look much prettier if you added the strands xDD I will look forward to seeing your future wallpaper which you promised will have strands too
It feel like we got quiet a few things in common. I love this wallie; the color, shades, everything. I know very well I'm a sucker for these kinds of walls and can't let go of them, but still this is really good. The background fits perfectly, it is noticeably beautiful and captivating yet lets you focus on the foreground, which is simple, clean and most of all deserve the attention of being the main focus. Well done! I really hope you continue making wallpapers like this. Or continue making wallpapers at all, it'd be a shame if you didn't. ^^

Purple colors in the wallpaper is heavy. They are abstract image of the title 'Requiem'. She is just a cute girl or goddess of evil behind her pretty face?

Having a unique style and personality to your artwork is something few artists achieve. And while it may not be accepted by the great many (who usually follow the bandwagon), I hope the appreciation of such a deviation from the norm reaches you in pieces like this one. The colors, the texture, the pose... and especially the POV you used is beautifully done. The blend of whites into your purple hues are well balanced, and background really is a nice touch to the entire composition. Great work, and I hope to see more from you.

Well...
