This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Look I dug up one of my old wallies, good times. =D

"The scan is from the cd of the first season's ending song Zessei Bijin which supposedly means unparalleled beauty, now you know where the wallie's title comes from (not really creative). I loved the ending and opening for the series, the songs as well as the animation.
The scan was vectored and then I just threw in patterns and textures, it still has the style of the original but it looks not as dark as the original. I actually took the chance and used some textures I wanted to use for ages, especially the texture on the kimono. It really breaks the overall asian look but I couldn't resist the urge. Some small details were changed because I thought it would look better. The background is very simplistic unless you use the Art Nouveau version (which is still pretty simple).
Awesome..
we totally needed more Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei...
anyways the traditional wall always gets my eye and this looks marvelous and cute...

The vector, the colors, the outlining... gorgeous job. I have a slight issue that I think the center image is up a little too high but that could definitely be my OCD kicking in so ignore that! Anyway, great work!

Way too simple ne? But that way it's easier to crop, enjoy all the resolutions. X3
