This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This is a vector of Tetsuo I made and have used before (minus the face and hand circuit scars) but this is an entirely different version and direction, used the japanese rising sun theme mixed in with the tech type condition Tetsuo had towards the end of the film where he became part cyborg, and used a sorta 3D style text I did.. looks interesting lol
Nice vector, and the 3d text is pretty cool how you did that actually, but I think the background could have been more inventive, rather than just using two brushes to make it up.
The biggest problem I have with this is that.. it's red.. very red. I personally wouldn't use this wallpaper as a background for that fact because I find that red is a huge eyesore. I'm not sure how other people would feel about this, but that's just my opinion on the matter. @_@
One last thing. The text you used for your signature is just ugly in comparison to the wall as a whole. I would suggest making it smaller and in a more print looking font, rather than that complicated fancy-ish font.
Well the traditional Japanese rising sun is red is it not? lol, and yeah I'll move on from red now I get the picture lol but I did use a darker red not bright red I hate it too bright myself, just yano red and Akira fit... red text at opening, red cape he has etc lol, shame red always looks ugly on the thumbnail.
And Bernouli you says the text's pretty cool, then its ugly? :S I'm lost lol, and it's quite simple how I did that 3D effect, just a normal font used in 4 layers with a lot of clever skewing and rotating, and adding shadows etc.
