Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Although I haven't seen this anime yet, I like the artwork. I vectored this scan. I felt like taking it easy today and just replicate everything in the scan exactly as it is. So yeah...it was pretty simple. Altogether, this wallpaper took about 4 hours to make.
Don't worry about the stuff at the bottom, I sized it so only the word "Purple" is visible if you have a Window's taskbar at the bottom.
The only thing that sucked is that I had to do the stems and flowers again...they weren't the same as my first wallpaper...
For the pattern on the shirt..I just vectored that from my head. It's supposed to be that "Japanese clouds" stuff.

While I am not familar with this series, i just had to comment on this wallpaper. Its beautiful! You obviously have a good eye for style and have created a unique and stunning wall. I love how it is simple, yet striking.
4 hours?? you got to be kidding, one of the best iv'e seen on this page and you made them almost over a cup of coffee... amazing! if you don't mind make alot more of these I just love the concept and the colors! I really hope to see you make alot more stunning art!

Very beautiful I love the rich fall colors they remind me of a path of colored fall trees the leaves blowing gracefully in the wind. I think the rustic textures are grunge and details in the kimono are wonderful. Everything looks great I just love it A+ and a fav very unique

Good job of cleaning it up from the original. Though there wasn't much added. I certainly can't think of anything else. Though when it comes to SZS stuff I've seen. Minimalism seems to be the common trend. Not surprising given the art style. It would have been interesting if you had tried integrating the source art into a wall that had a lighter tone. That might have been interesting.
This wallpaper is amazing! I absolutely love the textures on his clothing and their differing directions. The flowery design seems a bit random but still fits nicely, evening out the weight in the weight in the center and the blockiness of Mr. Despair.
