This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Xing Huo, aka the "Mysterious Bat Lady" from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Somehow she reminds me of an evil Oruha in this picture, but I liked the lineart. And so, 8-10 hours later...... *poof* Wallpaper.
The image is from the cover for chapter 90, black and white image that needed LOTS of cleaning up [as phonebook scans usually do], erasing the gray shading, etc., which took at least 3 hours. Colored her in Photoshop, trying to keep simple, flat shading somewhat like CLAMP's XXXholic illustrations. Both the shirt and the background come from an fabric pattern website. The symbol was taken from a screenshot and redrawn with the pen tool. Yeah, I know the kanji characters are the standard "love, harmony" characters, but they're not supposed to be read as words in this piece, but as art. [or so is my excuse XD] The splatter brushes are CLAMP's own, lifted from the original piece.

I like her too. According to the anime's official website, its Xing Huo/Shin Fwo, although her name hasn't been mentioned in the series yet. I hope CLAMP decides to do something with her eventually.
Huh, this deserves a much better mark, it looks very detailed and it has a character most people would think of doing a wall on, sorta original to me. I really like this, im finding alot of nice wall's in the tsubasa gallery.
I do like this wp. I just wish she was smiling. The episode with her singing was fantastic. Perhaps doing one of her on stage would be in order as well? You have the skill to pull it off. :o) Interesting choice of dress pattern. I don't know if I like it or if it's too busy. Hmm.
