After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
Hours of vectoring and painting are over...Yes, this wall was the hardest I've ever done. It all started with a book, maybe there is a reader who would know what is it. It's Involution Ocean by Bruce Sterling.
I read this book some time ago. It was a specific sci-fi, but the main characters were a man and an alien bat-like woman. The man had to wear a mask because of the dust on the planet, the bat-like woman was very small but beautiful and they all traveled in a huge metal boat for they hunted whales. Yeah, and the name of the ship was LUNGLANCE.
So when I saw this scan, it absolutely suited my imagination of the book. And the scan was also fantastic! So I decided to vector it completely and here we go.
This wall was in progress for a few weeks and I almost reached 1 000 shape layers, there were also about 600 normal layers mainly spent on shading .
I needed to extend the scan since I didn't want to cut a piece and my idea is that they are waiting for the ship just like on a bus stop, you see the tablet?
The doves were vectored using a stock photo, and a stock photo was also used for the city below which was again something new for me. I must say I'm quite satisfied with this at last.
I don't know why but this wallpaper is scary to me.
Its making me think of things that are not so nice and dark,
painful things. But I'm sure a dark wallpaper has alway something in it like
pain or scar even the one who made it don't want to give that feeling.
You done great work! I love dark wallpapers and I love wallpaper which give me the feeling to think about some thing.
Is really cool and its insperationing me(hope I write it right) for writting a poem about it:3
Abou the art of the wallpaper, the paiting and vector,I can't say much.
Wow, i just saw the scan...1000 layers!! OMG thats LOT! /(oOo)\
-the minimal details of the airship are great!
-The difficult level of vectoring this type of scan is admirable O.O
i wonder how have looked this with colors but anyway its an admirable masterwork you´ve done here!
my only Complain here is that is just for widescreen T_T but i´ll give you my fav cause its an excellent work and it deserves it!
WOW!+FAV
I'm not familiar with this series at all, but it is incredible! Indeed, it gives off a creepy feeling...a dark and almost sad aura! And that is amazing; for your wallpaper to give off such feelings...wow! It does look like they're standing there waiting to be taken away, like to escape to someplace else.
The city below and the ship in back are both stunning. So many details! I can imagine that this took a long time...a very long time, and wow, that is A LOT of layers. O__o How on earth?? You must've been so patient!! And I like how it's monochrome. It just adds to the feeling of the atmosphere. You're very skilled. :3 Congrats on this awesome wallpaper! *faves*

this piece is, as has been said, rather dark. leaving it in b&w was an excellent decision, for color in this would hinder the ability for the mood to get across. it would decrease how dramatic the wall is. everything is very well placed in this, and the vector looks incredible.
your last wall was beautiful, this isn't. it somehow transcends beauty and becomes something more. the darkness of it repels beauty, but the brilliance of it inspires it. words cannot truly do this justice. all i can truly say is it is a piece deserving of much admiration.
Much better than my grungy attempt. I am loving it. the Giger-ish feeling I get in this piece is worthy of a fave.
Well, anything by this guy is good, but you made it better.
Maybe the most detailed vector wallpaper ever from you? Quite interesting peice of art. And I have a weakness for this black-white wallpapers. Nice job there, Ms.Black ;3
I don't mind if it is dark. At least I can view better my icons.

Very beautifully done.
must have been a heckload of painting to deal with and tough to when there's so much shading involved.
you could have put in a few blurred areas i guess but heck it still looks good :P
nice work :)
This is extremely unique, very gothic and grunge, I just think it's a little creepy it's very well made and I love how clean cut and sharp it looks. Your taste is very unique and straight forward it gives the viewer something to think about, not just say "wow that's pretty" and forget it, it leaves a lasting impression and no one could ever make a wall like yours, that's whats so great about every piece of art you make. Your diverse you can make something drop dead sad and something filled with hope and love like your last wall, and your skills are constantly improving. Every things great as always < 3 A-
This is very high quality work. But somehow the perspective of the height was not immediately apparent to me (and it should be, with the cityscape below the clouds). Perhaps the contrast is still too strong between the foreground and the added background? I do prefer the cityscape background version better though!
Whaao! This is such an awesum amazin walli from you I admire your work, its obvious that you worked so hard with the vector and the paint!i rly rly love this one alot :D The buildings and the doves is such a wonderful touch!u worked so perfectly with this walli...Keep up the gr8 work
