After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
Now, this is a story all about how my life got flipped,-turned upside down, and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell y-OH MY GOD I MADE A WALLPAPER ZOMGWTFBBQ!111!one!1!!11!eleven(no pun intended on the "eleven").
Before you start booing and throwing tomatoes and rocks at me, I just wanted to say:
I'm sorry, lulz.
I've been really really busy with other things (from uni, to work, to a lot of other stuff), I never managed to fully finish a wallpaper in like... over a year. Yes, that's a lot of time.
Anyway. I got spare time again, and this wallpaper is the first one I managed to finish (yep, there's other wallpapers in progress as well, hell is freezing over). It was mostly a practice work to remove some rust I gathered in the past months, as I consider this a painting excercise. Scene was redrawn (character vectored, as usual) and background painted, using as reference a screenshot from the second ending of the first season of Code Geass. I eventually flipped it since most of the users usually place their icons on the left, and poor C.C. doesn't want to be covered by ugly filthy icons!
Before people start whining about the castle's water reflection, all I did was reproducing the same effect it had in the original screenshot, where the reflection looks just as blurry (if not even more). So yeah, I'm already aware of that, but that's as how I intended that to be, just in case you guys were to jump on that with your knives between your teeth.
An other note, I wasn't originally planning to submit this, since I finished this about a week ago, and Susan-chan amazingly had the same idea of walling this scene just like I did, so I felt that it would have been a bit repetitive to submit that right after she submitted her own take on it. Be sure to give a look at her wallpaper as well because she did a good job at it.
Lastly, be sure to check Scenic FFA Competition, and if you feel like it, give it a try and join it! The more people the merrier, scenic wallpapers need serious loving!
Oh and of course, be sure to check out Shinndou.com for more resolutions (for the other two aspect ratios)!
Wow, this is some work of art! Really, the painting is incredible. I'm not a fan of Code Geass, but this wallpaper really captured my attention with the amount of detail and superb quality. I'd think it would make a good piece to frame and hang up somewhere... I think the castle reflection looks really good.
Very nice! I really like the composition and colors used here. C.C. stands out nicely in that red color. The wall is also very stylish, and has a very painterly feel. However, I do think that some parts look a bit too blotchy, like some of the grass in the foreground and the bushes near the white castle. I also think that the water looks too flat. C.C. may be standing on a high cliff and the water may be too far away to show any details, but still I think some wave-like ripples could be added here and there. Overall it looks really nice though.
Oh my :o This is just amazing! Painted walls are always my favourite and this is one of the best I've seen. I don't even know what to say because everything about it is amazing. Unfortunately the clouds look too bright to me, but that's because my monitor doesn't display whites properly >.< I can't believe you weren't even going to submit this! I love it :D
Wow man
this is the kind of wall that i wanna learn how to do
really awesome
when all fit the image
to brought a beautiful wall
it's in my desktop now
many thanks
and keep the good work
:)
Fresh prince of bel-air! xD
Oh my, you smexyfied that screenshot. < 3 The sky looks great, It's good that you didn't just stick to the original look. Plus the painting is really nice. The only thing I can think of is maybe make the reflection of the mountain on the right in the water slightly sharper at the top to get rid of that total blur look. I don't know how to word this properly. lol!
Oh, nice vibrant colours! I've never really managed to figure out how these painted walls are done (are tablets the only way?), but anyhow, this one turned out really nice. The blurry water isn't a problem at all; in fact, the bluriness is actually good, as it clearly defines and separates "water" from "not...water" =/ (haha, water is an important metaphor!). And speaking of metaphors, could the lack of sunlight and light reflection also be one? Even if it's not, we'll just pretend it is anyways :) (I'm an absolute sucker for extranecessary lighting and photoshop magic).
I also like the layered clouds...how there are separate and varying degrees of cloud density and opacity. That creates a really nice depth of scenery.
And another thing that really stands out as exceptional: the gold border pattern on her dress.
Wut, this is a pwn recreation of a not pwn screenshot.
Wow,this wall is nice...the only thing is the castle's reflection..it looks kinda weird...but everything else is just breathtaking...all the details are amazing!
OH MY GOSH!! wow i always loved this scan!
I really wanted to vector it but i know it would have never looked that awesome!!
i mean it's just like Yuuki-san said LOOK AT THOSE REFLECTIONS!

Somehow , it reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki's films. This deserves a SSS rating. [2]

I love the amount of detail you put into this and the overall feel of the wallpaper. It's calm, serene, and awe-inspiring. You did an amazing job with the painting. The one thing I can critique on is C.C.'s hand, which looks off. The pinkie seems too thick and the thumb a little too long. Nonetheless, +Fav. Great job! ^^
I'm glad to hear that you got some work on the horizon. I was worried you disappeared for good, and that be a shame for the wallpaper community as a whole.
Anyways the wall:
+ CC looks great, and thank you for saving her from those dreaded icons.
+ Staying true to the screenshot instead of going effect crazy.
+ Clouds look like clouds, and not just ordinary clouds, but clouds of frozen awesome.
+ Scenic walls = Win
- The lakeside villiage looks like it's made of LEGOs.
That last one was just me being overly-picky, since I have to be sometimes. Great work!
