This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
A wallpaper that was done in a few days but went through almost two months of self re-evaluation and refinement.
This wall was a major pain to make due to its sheer simplicity. Brainstorming for a background was the worse part and getting it to look right was a killer. EVAs fighting in the background? Doesn't quite fit the mood. A scenic outdoor theme? They look too serious for that.
PS: If you think the green is too glowy, that is because I am basing it on the anime (they used a different color but that color doesn't quite fit the wall).
Well, it might look simple but I think it is perfect just how it is now. I never saw a Neon Genesis Evangelion wallpaper referring to the topic of the anime from this point of view - the heart of NERV. Original idea, well done.
Dias! a new wall!
hey i think it looks cool =D very nice job on it
some stuff tho
well the green terrain thingies looks abit grainy compared to them...and is that a concrete wall? woulda been cooler if the look is similar to the grey metal thingies behind rei and shinji
Weee...Dias did a wall. Anyway, nice NGE wall you got us here. How you do the radar terrain thingy? It looks awesome but the odd 'bout it is the perspective of it. Overall, I just like this wall ^^

That's because the wall where the topographic screen is mounted is 90 degrees to the balcony where they are standing. So from that angle, of course the screen will have a different angle.

im wit ya in that part lol. anywayz...that thingi where they standing on reminds me of one of those moving walkways they have in nerv @_@. I think adding some useless tech on the topographic map woulda spiced it up a bit >xD. Besides that....well, gud j0b on putting the wall together. Its always nice to see a thought out wall made entirely from scratch >xD.

Another marvellous wallpaper. great job. the background explains their headquarters. I love the couple very much. the picture looks very clear and neat. very nice wallpaper
Woah...no way...you did the backround yourself...I can't even begin to think of coming up with something like that...that is truly some top quality work.
Wow! I really love it! It's very controlled looking, as in, it looks comfortable (nothing is really out of place). I love the angled perspective! Really super job!
This looks good. I haven't seen this drawing of the characters before, a scan? The background is done reasonably well, but seems quite dark on my screen. It's hard to make out any forms of the architecture.
I think the simplicity of this wall is actually what makes it so much more interesting.
and you got really good skills. and the green patterns at the back ain't simple at all. It is actually pretty good.
The perspective of the grey wall behind the characters in relation to the map on the background is a bit off, but other then that, A damn fine EVA wall. I would love to get my hands on those extracts you used

Where did you find the origional scan with Shinji and Rei? The only place I found it was in Newtype, but has to come from somewhere...
Nice
