As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Why is the title "replica":

You see, the left guy is called Luke, and he is actually replica of this other guy named Asch. Actually Asch's name is Luke fon Fabre but since his place took over replica(who didnt knew what he is) he changed his name etc etc i dont want to spoil things anymore, so watch anime or play the game!

the rest of the background is painted by me from my head. i sketched it and i traced it over in photoshop cs2.

i had some troubles with the vector, cause i couldnt see some parts clearly but i kinda did it in my own way :D i had 56 layers and i did them both in 5 hours... :D but i need to mention that their hair's kill. :D
oh and i added more shadings on the swords cause i thought they were way to simple and i didnt like them :D
background
firstly i made some abstract and it was exactly the same as our signature but my sis told me that i should try something else. and thats why i thought scenic wallpaper with mountains and grass and those stones :D uh it may look like its from some image, well maybe they are, cause sometimes my brain remembers stupid things and when i draw it it may look like them

oh and sorry for not making it 1920x1200 cause i accidentally resized it to 1680 and saved it
oh and i think this one is the best so far, at least in scenic area :D i hope you think so too :D
and no more psd...i resized it to tiny image...

Wow the sword rocks! the lighting on it totally blew my mind. your vectoring skills are awesome because when i full viewed your wallpaper, i was amazed by the hair because i can like feel that it is heavy hehehe...

Pretty wall! The vectoring is very good and it's even better when you think about that screen shot you used. The background looks pretty good too and it complements them very well. I think those gleaming swords give a nice effect as well. +fav.

You worked wonders with the original...going from that to this. O__o It's just wow! And I love the background. You were very creative with the scene...and you did all of that just off the top of your head? It's lovely~ Really perfect. I just think maybe some of the outlines/strokes around the guys' hair could be smaller or a matching color, but other than that, this is great. :3 *faves*
Yay for Tales wallpapers! I've been wanting to see more from ToA. Nice work on the vector, especially coming from a screen shot. And the clouds look nice and fluffy against the rocks :3
WOW really nice composition! This wallpaper has some very vibrant colors and I have to say that's one of the reasons why I was attracted to it in the first place. I'm not a big fan of this show but I do like the character designs. This wall is such a major transformation from the original, you've got to teach some of your techniques, lol. I really like the idea of adding the stones next to them and also the field in back, plus the vector is flawless. Your wall is very exquisitely done and I thank you for sharing it!
Wow another great wallpaper from ToA, this is a beautiful wally and i will surely love this, i like the colors and the sword shines are great, and the scenery, the sky and the mountain is more exciting i can't wait to see more i will surely add this to my collection.

Ah nice wall. I remember playing Tales of Abyss, it was a great game and I'm glad someone actually make a good wallpaper for it. It must have been a lot of work vectoring it from that low quality screen shot. Kudos for your effort, and faved ^^
Tales series is one of my fav game, and TotA is one of the best Great vector, i like you add more details in it and change the background into scenic, great job.
