This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
@Damo: Well when I click on it to sign it in, it takes a while to load and then a message appears saying "click troubleshoot and we'll repair the problem" Doesn't tell me what the problem is after.
Well, if you want to know more then I'll be available through PM or MSN, whichever is best for you. Rather not go further into on the SB of all places. =P
Vector walls have been the thing lately
but this one makes me go oooh! coz jtsang made it different by the bold outlines and really bright colors, which aren't common in gundam walls :D it's refreshing to look at something new =D
New wallpaper - again of Stellar Loussier. This is the first vector I've ever completed and actually used in a wall, go easy on me! It was extremely painful to vector it all, probably took over 10 hours in total. I worked from a small, but extremely popular scan of the DVD Volume... 5, I believe. I had the most troubles with the face and eyes, mainly, and the eyes alone took over 10 tries to get it to look a bit like the original. Once I completed it [the vector], however, I started facing problems. I didn't realize that I used such bold, thick lines on the vector, and I was too lazy to change it. So... instead of making the character fit in, I made the background fir the character! And thus, this looks like it was done in paint or something.
This is one of my favorite walls. I haven't seen a lot of vector art before this but it's fast becoming one of my most favorite styles. The sharpness, bold, and well-defined colors are just amazing.
I love the bold outlines. so this is your first attempt at using vector in a wall... well you've done very well... and perhaps even added something a bit fresh to the whole vectored wall scenario. i like it!
By Golly...this is nice..
Gives the comic feel to it ;)
nice work on this one, even if it was alittle complicated to make, you sure did a fine job on it.
I REALLY LIKE IT, It's give her that kind of "cartoony" style look, the BG great giving that "bold" look. the only thing I would suggest is work on the little black birdies. but all in all, great stuff

I love the cartoonist-like appearance, yet still being able to keep a high quality detail to the wallpaper.
Tasteful.
