so, today i present to you, a collab between me and dhias! between me and my new found compositional skills, and dhias' awesome smudging, and my other weird obsession with textures, we have for you a rahXephon wall.
A lot of work went into this one, but the thing about it i personally like the most is the amount of depth it has.
to start, we picked out a scan. dhias smudged and recolored all of ayato and quan, as wella s all the rocks around it, and then there was water added.
it came to me, where i textured, tweaked, and added foreground elements, like rocks and tree branches to fix the scale and add depth. added some light streaks and starte don the text.
back to dhias it went where the ligh went under some changes, as did the text a nd a few other minor issues.
back to me for some final tweaks and effects, text and signature.
now, here it is. the rahXephon wall we worked so hard on.
restricted color pallete, parallel composition, and prettyness.
we hope you enjoy it, because we worked really hard on it.
and for those of you who have left me nice PM's and little notes in my guestbook, thanks. i appreciate your kind words, and i'll miss you all very much.

Anyways, the composition is nice, lighting is great so both of you did a nice job :)
Anyway, back to the wall. This is simply amazing, I must say this is more of a masterpiece rather than a wallpaper, because the term wallpaper seems to degrade it O.O The water seems a bit cut off (this is just a recommendation that'll probably not even work, so you can pretty much ignore it), the waterfalls seem so...flat X_x Adding some mist here and there probably won't be any harm, in fact, it'll probably add to the mystic feel O_o Other than that, this piece of art can be easily described with one (long) word 'wow-uber-1337-beautiful-amazing-sexy-woah-incredible-superb-youpwnme-...' you get what I mean.
I must say dhias did an excellent job, too! Your smudging is godly *bows*

Um for critiques I would have made the change from water to mountain a little less abrupt and um made it darker like the earlier versions xD Overall though this wall owns and we all know it ^^
My brothers and sisters sit under the table, Picking up my bones,
And they bury them under the cold marble stones.
Anyways, I'm liking how the characters are made to look like they blend with the rock. What REALLY caught my eye is the water. The water looks very real. Another thing I noticed is the use of distance. The rocks and tree branches in the bottom appear closer than everything else in the wall. Made me go "damn." I don't think I've seen too many walls using this kind of technique so my hats off to you two.

The thumbnail was capturing and the wallpaper is just breathless. I love the texture and the background...
Damn I wish I had smuding skills. *also bows to dhias* I don't think there's anything to change in this wallpaper. And I totally agree with highknees' one long word.

That aside, I love the shadowy cave and both Ayato and Quan(?) are beautifuly positioned among it. Genius.
Everything look so real or just oil painting style, can't quite describe it, but the sun rays, texturing, water, scan, blending, it's truely a great piece, I guess there is a difference between playin artist and real artists lol.

What I don't like is the wall looks a bit grainy, but maybe that's just part of the wall's effect ;P
