This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Oh to have a day off and to end up with a wallpaper! I loved this scan when I saw it in the scan gallery and I know I wanted to do some kind of frosted effects cuz supposedly she was cryogenized o__O or something in the game. So I dled tons of frost, icicles, snow, snowflakes to try to create some sort of crystallized effect. It was majorly busy which didn't go over to well at session zero so I managed to make it less busy I guess and then I found this stock of a beautiful monarch butterfly, it's huge but I loved it and worked it in. Those are snowdrops but they take on a dewlike effect, works well I think. I added the digital grids to link in with the whole crystallizing theme. Its still kind of busy but in the end I like it! :)
Omg, this looks so much better! I'm glad you took my advice to soften up the texture a bit and removed the stuff on her face. I really like this edited version, great job ^^
The colors are wonderful, they fits perfectly with everything, and the scan itself is, of course, magnificent.
This is just lovely!

Wow, a very beautiful wall indeed. The dark colors really give a "cool" feel to this, and the character scan is rather fitting as well. The monarch butterfly is really a nice add and highlights the selection well. Excellent job and adding to favorites :)
Goodness. I never knew butterfly wings would suit Nina Williams wonderfully. :3 Simply beautiful. I love the cold feeling this wallpaper is giving out. ^_^ It is kinda dark though, but all in all it's great. :)
I would have called this, "the dangerous butterfly." i didn't recognize her at first, but i think the dark wings are a good touch on a very cold person like her...
