As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!
Based on how depressed that Asuka is towards the end of the anime/her messed up past, I SOMEHOW thought of a wierd line that went something along the lines of "The Tree of Depression's Roots are the the Despairs of the Past."
Or something like that. Either way, the "tree" is the tedril like darkness at the top, and the "roots" are obviously the black net stuff between the two black masses. The circle is supposed to be some abstract hill.
The Asuka in the image didn't come out quite as sharp as I wanted it to, but unfortunately that's the best I can do with just Paint.NET. No, no Photoshop, you PS Junkies.
After full view the color is not too dirty, but there are many white fragments in asuka, and the lines is also jagged that makes the whole character became dirty, so clean it up that part will do
I have to say when I saw this wallpaper I was really Really excited. It really is a bright idea. But the execution wasn't what I had hoped for, like others have stated the image quality is poor.
You have a really great idea, and you should work on it.
Few suggestions, well only one really: Larger resolution please.
The idea is really awesome, so dark and evil. However! You have to increase the resolution otherwise not many users will take advantage of the wallie. Also, add some effects to the background. TO my mind you don't have to work on extraction anymore, focus on the background. That is all, keep up the good work!
The black vinery thing attached to the girl is a wicked idea & the grungy rustic style in the background makes it dark & Gloomy. The girl needs work I would go for vectoring. The colors needs work as well but the theme is decent I would not change it.
Wow! Here I thought I was content to just keep with what it was. But after getting more than like, one comment, I think I'm motivated enough to try for some improvement. ^_^
However, I can't vector, and the image that I used originally was just a tad too small to look decent, so I don't know about any larger resolutions of good quality -- I think that increasing the resolution will only harm it, but I'll see what I can do about it.
Alright, I've updated it to have 1280 x 1024, and I've fixed some of the issues you were pointing out, though the image clarity isn't...Fantastic. Paint.NET isn't amazing at resizing, it would seem.
