I second everything Storm said.
Plus the smudges on their hairs need to be cleaned up.

Maybe some background would be nice, just to make it more interesting. Can be totally abstract, or could be something from the story.

I think it would cool vectored (nice scan to practice on if you don't already know how to vector), with pale colours, maybe with watercolour thing going on, and typography background. No idea why I have that idea in my head, this is the first time I've seen this scan.
