As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. It's been almost exactly 4 months since my last wallpaper. Things have been hectic since uni started. .__. Well anyway here's a new wall from me and also my first for this year. I love colorful things and so i decided to try something with a simple abstract style. 8D This is is also my 2nd wallpaper for this category. I want the game. *__*
The title is made up of latin words. Spectra meaning "spectrum (colors)" and Noctis meaning "of the night". Sounds better in latin. xD I insisted on having the word Noctis in it because that's the name of the character. ^^
What i did was take this screenshot, and painted over him. I used a lot of the color pick (pressing "i" for the shortcut in PS) and brush tool(pressing "b") repetitively to get the right tones for coloring over it. No smudge tool or brushes besides the default PS brush was used. Everything was either painted over or edited with all the basic stuff in photoshop. Then i made the glowy wave things and the added in the text.
The wall looks dark in the thumbnail. It's supposed to be brighter. D: Fullview to see it properly.

Yeah his face looks really fake and I notice that his left hand doesn't look right, it looks like a right hand, like you didn't recreate it right. But I do love the colors and effects you did.

Well, he looks pretty convincing to me. His face looks perhaps a bit odd in some places and colors but that's okay knowing it wasn't a vector or an extracted image. Respect! :)
I also like the colorful swirls and the text. And the narrow position, too. It fits nicely on my desktop since I have lots of icons, lol. XD
And I didn't know his name was Noctis...was too busy drooling over the previews of the game, haha. Thanks for the info. :3
I would say this wall is simple but cool. I was surprised by the size of the screenshot, it's quite small. Honestly, I can't really judge a wall color by color. I'm a bit color blind. But on an overall color, it's pretty, especially that on the wave. I like the color combination. Nice!
I'm in love with the colours and the glowy things < 333 The painting is slightly weird though - the clothes look more 2D while the face and hair look like they belong to a figurine ^_^
Still, to repaint a small screen shot of a 3D character is not easy, and you deserve a fave for this >3 Besides, the text rocks!
