As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!
Ctrl is useful when you want to control the angle of the vector. Shift is for asymmetric vector. You can combine the two also. One more thing, if you start an other path while pressing shift and that a former path is selected, the two will combined.
I only use ctrl for zooming, backspace I knew because it is the same in PS and AI. The shift and enter I didn't know, those are useful. I ended a path using right mouse on my last node
You have to finish the path to edit it with the node tool. You can finish a path by closing it up or by pressing enter. You can also go back in the path by pressing backspace. I also suggest you to try pressing shift and ctrl while using the Bezier tool^^

Anyway i started vectoring this right after i submitted my previous wallpaper, Bonta-kun(10 days). I bought the scan from animepaper when it first came out but i was lazy to vector it so it drag on till now.
The way i want the wallpaper to come out is abit like the original scan - in space. But after i vectored everything out there is quite a lot of space as there is no more text so i decided to put in the earth/moon mutated planet. The result is pretty much what i wanted.
Oh well i hope you like it ^^ - Be With Me feat. Belldandy, Urd, Skuld and Holy Bell!
Edit: for those who downloaded the 1280x1024 resolution please redownload it as it is the wrong file size >_< It should be 1280x960 or else a large portion of the cloth dissapeared. Sorry about that!
Edit2: Oh yeah would like to thank those who commented on the wallpaper. If you really like it do add favourites but if you feel there is need for improvement, do write it out :) I want to make better wallpaper...

I must say someone is obsessed with something lol, heh it's interesting I find some simliarity between us, I can't do a lot of bg as well, only planets and space lol. Anyways well done but the obsession is a little bit scary lol
OMG...drool...this is gorgeous. Nice job cleaning vectoring and cleaning up that scan. This looks really good. Although I typically don't like the whole "let's throw a planet in there", it works really well with this scan.

That's a beautiful wallpaper! The scan makes for a great base to work with, but it looks like it would have taken an awful lot of work --- I would have given up before I started trying! The background looks quite nice too, and really brings the goddesses out.
Oh my... goddess! XD It must have taken you so long to vector this! o_o I'm really impressed. However, I think your wallpaper could be even better with some special FX.. like how about creating a sunrising on the top edge of the planet? Or add finer details in the space instead of having "black" clouds covering some parts of it.
