I could have killed this wallpaper >.<. I’ve never spent so much time on a completed project in my entire life. On-and-off this project consumed two and half weeks, a combined number of hours and nights I would rather not think about. On Saturday I wanted to finish it but I just couldn’t muster any strength to work on it. I finished a few lines and started a whole other wallpaper. If this doesn’t pay off (aka feedback) I’m going to rip all of my hair out. All of it, I swear. So, as much as I love Angelic Layer and working on wallpapers, at this moment I don’t want to see minitokyo or animepaper ever again. Of course I’m just being dramatic and happy that this project is finally done. I set aside everything for this.

As you can see, I cropped the original scan and decided to focus solely on Misaki and cut Hikaru out. I really just wanted to make a Misaki wallpaper, ergo Hikaru is missing. I liked Misaki’s striped shirt, but I decided to go with a plain peachy color that matched the color of the stripes. That and taking out the yellow threads in her overalls are about the only changes I made to Misaki and her clothing. I actually fell in love with this scan at first sight, and didn’t realize how much work it was actually going to be. I might have taken our relationship slower had I known.

So, this is the end product of a very tiring journey. I used two brushes (trees, birds), vectored the rest and tried to bring the scan to life. Inspiration partly due to my aching body, my frustration and to Rob Thomas’ Little Wonders, a beautiful song. :)
