After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! I had started this to celebrate my 2 year anniversary here at AP (that was like... 9 months ago...). It was also going to be my first wallpaper as a community waller (I became one about 11 months ago...). But a few months ago, I got promoted and now I’m a senior member! ARG, I never got the chance to submit walls as a community waller! Give me back my childhood!
j/k j/k lolol! I'm sho happy! But I know I don’t deserve to be a senior member seeing as my promotion went almost unnoticed, lol! That or I’m hated by more than I thought! *awkward silence* I had always wanted to be promoted for being a good member rather than for my walls! Since my walls suck and I haven't made one since I was a CW, this must be the case, right?
I'm really grateful for the great learning experiences I've had here as well as the wonderful encounters that I have made. Of course, for the time being, I'm ignoring all the negative things that I've also experienced here, hehe. Anyway, I learned a lot about graphics here, and I still have much to learn too. So thank you for letting me stalk you!!
I chose to wall Sailor Moon for my anniversary wallpaper because the series has really influenced my art life... and life in general, lol. This particular image is one of my favorites (yet I totally changed it)! I thought a (now cliche) moon & cloud BG would match the scan and series more than anything, lol, but I didn't think that I could make a good one 8| I also like the original background but I didn’t know how to recreate it 8*|
I don’t like to change the original image much when walling, but for this scan I redrew the wings and hair, because I thought that the big chunk of hair by her face was kinda distracting. And I thought the original’s wings were a bit weird, but I couldn’t find a good reference to copy, so I think I ended up making them worse than the original, especially the angle OTL It was really hard and tiresome to draw ;_;
My complaints on the wall: Usagi doesn't blend into the BG because I suck, and I didn't plan properly, and I'm too lazy to redo the coloring. I hope this factor isn't as annoying to you as it is to me *_* The coloring isn't smooth because I don't know how to paint properly and soft brushes lie. And as you may be able to tell, I was lazy when coloring the wings (even though they still took so much time in the end). I also don't like how it looks cropped. ... I hate many other things too. But I love big dogs.
Critique is welcome! As I mentioned, I already know a lot of stuff are wrong, but after spending so much time on this wall, I've become very sick of it and don't want to fix anything. Please expect my next walls to be worse BD

EDIT: I read vitaamin's comment and realized that the cyan is indeed quite despicable, so I lazily made a scary purple version for anyone who's interested, lol.
EDIT 2: Made it a bit darker.

I think the technique on this one is great
but.. i request less cyan >_> i think it ruins the delicacy of your hard work! i think a different color scheme would really transform this wall
and i think the white highlights in her hair could use to be more yellow

Looking at it, I think a nice darker shade on her skin would really make her pop out.
Like how her wings are, they nicely shaded and extend over the bg wonderfully.
I like the cyan hues, reminds me of the opening though I think the brightest part
could be darker to make it blend more.
Other than those suggestions, I really love this wall. Must fave :3

I think your work is wonderfull. the cyan doesn't really bother me that much, but maybe the skin could have used a bit of a darker tone. But you're right you know. There's no point in endlessly correcting every tiny flaw, especially when you've obviously spent a lot of time on it and got such a beautiful result!
High quality, absolute clarity and awesome yet "simple" coloring: these are the things that combine very very well in this wallpaper. The wings are very nicely done - her face shows emotion (which often is not the case at vectors) and the background is just awesomely done.
This is a clear +fav for me even though it's just a "regular" vector. Good job and keep it up!:)

You might be tired of it, but it's pretty clear that we all can't get enough of it :) I'm especially impressed that your first (?) time with a starry bg worked out so well. The simple bg fits well with your style, and the atmosphere is perfect.
As for blending, welcome to the difficulties of trying to blend vectors into non-vector bgs -_- You did a great job blending, with the soft glow in the bg matching the soft glow off of her. While the lighting might not make sense, it's not noticeable since everything looks so good.
And this is Sailor Moon. Lighting isn't supposed to make any sort of logical sense with all of their magical pixie dust or whatever they carry with them xD
I must say, everything about this wallpaper is right on - the vector, background, colors, etc. I love the idea and it's really just a beautiful piece. Keep up the great work!

Aw, great job Luna-chan! For only taking about a year out on this wallpaper it sure payed off. And don't say your wallpapers suck because they don't! They are all so totally cool!
