This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I managed to kick my wallers block today, and I've always wanted to make a Noir wallpaper so I'm happy with how this turned out. I enjoyed watching it but I never got to see the rest of the series past Volume 2 unforunately.
I like the swirly almost dreamlike effect of the background. Kinda reminds me of The Professional. The outlines of the characters were a little shaky, though. But other than that the colors on this really match with the scans.
Hey! You finally kicked off your waller's block. I hope I kick off mine soon. :(
Anyway to your wallpaper. It is a different touch from your other previous works, and to be honest, this came out very well indeed. I just love the background. Very well done, and the technology stuff wasn't over done. Kudos on the character extraction too. Keep up the good work! I rate this wallpaper!
Oh wow, I really like the BG on this. It's very wispy and interesting to look at. I've never watched Noir, but I heard it was good. Everything just goest together very nicely. The font is also perfect. Great job! :)
:) I love the work that you did with the background... techy/abstract + tall buildings looks nice, makes for interesting perspectives XD Apart from the problem previously mentioned with the characters looking like they're floating, the vectored (?) blocks that you added to the top left corner looks a little... messy, and big... they stand out a little too much from the detailed brushes that you used all 'round. Maybe lower the opacity? :3

But there's something bothering me ... the chars, are floating.
Other than that, good job ^_^

The brushes are awesome
Nice background. Love the skyscrapper shapes in the back. I like the dull, washout colors you use. All those vector like shapes gave it depth.
The image looks crystal clear and with the backgound.
And the text are ok. ^^;
