Not to spoil anything (don't read further if you haven't finished the show) but the description of viral given in the first post, is an example of why Gurren Lagann is completely underrated. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty highly praised (as far as I can tell) in both Japan and the US (other than the episode 4, or 5, I forget, debacle, where the guy got fired) but what other show can bring you such a long journey, compacted into such few episodes? (other than FLCL that is, but that's another story). You've got a main character that just completely goes away after a couple of episodes (I won't say how or why, incase someone missed the spoiler warning), a big bad enemy that turns out to be not that bad at all (he had his reasons, you know), and all of this without shoving it into your face, or taking itself too seriously (which is the fault of a ton of shows). Off the top of my head, Gundam 0079 (original) is probably the only show I can think of where really there is no right and wrong side (if you follow Gundam, especially to Zeta and beyond, the federation isn't exactly comprised of saints. Quite the opposite) but really it's more of a story about a group of people, doing the best they can under the circumstances with which they live (in the case of the first half, being forced to live underground, and then coming to terms with the fact that there is a world on the surface etc). All of that is without mentioning the amazing characters like Viral, Kamina, Simon, Yoko, Nia etc.

I love it so much, that it's the first anime in awhile that I've actually pre-ordered. Usually I buy stuff when it's on sale etc, but this time I ordered a month in advance. Unfortunately, that was a mistake, as the company that licensed it, has missed the launch date that they set, by a pretty large margin. When there are people like me, and a wide assortment of others, waiting to buy your product...how do you dignify ANY delay? I'm looking forward to the day that I can add this to my collection, but I hope they won't keep me waiting so long that there will be other things to buy (like GTA IV, for example, in April).
