This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Just an attempt to finish one of interesting ideas.
"Blame!" and Tsutomu Nihei - perennial spring of inspiration for me.
This wallpaper looks some dark and melancholic... and you cannot find any cat in original manga:)
But anyway, this is my first finished work for last 14 months.
As usual, here we have a duet of Illustrator + Photoshop,
also I must warn you - this grayscale shades can be variable on different monitors (especially on non-IPS TFT) so, if you see extremely bright or too dark picture - it's your problem :)

1600x1200 version will appear on shinndou.com soon

P.S. I'm happy to use item "submit" after such long break

Nice to see grayserg walling again ^^ I don't know that manga but it looks really awesome, vectoring is top notch ^^ And cat with those eyes looks a bit scary o.o

What can I say that is of a unique comment? Nothing, really, so I will simply give you my opinion on it! It's beautiful! Despite all the darkness (which is my favorite part), there is a type of sad despair lingering about.

Love it. I love the detailing on the eyes and the hair, the lighting, and especially the way you've insinuated texture on her suit arm. The cat's face look a tad flat to me, esp. on the left side, but it won't stop me from faving or putting this on my desktop. Cheers!
