Hi guys! back with a new wallie...and again it took me long time to make one, waller's block as usual. (^t^) emoticon

Just found this scan somewhere in moe.imouto and maybe you can find the scan here too (i'll look for that later).

Done in PS CS3 using tablet, took me 4 hrs. including tea break.

PROCESS:

SPOILER (click to view)

Reconstructed the bg in both sides using only 3 kinds of brushes.
Then add some glowy looking petal(s) same with the scan.

Well i guess that's it for now..hope you guys enjoy it. 9(>_>) emoticon

Interesting concept. I for one think it's too symmetrical. The wall would be more interesting if she were placed more to one side rather than smack in the middle. Maybe the layers of blue could be blurred or blended together, because the sharp "levels" make them look like sedimentary rock. I also think the rest of the wall should have some more of that texture like the top middle part. Also more black fish schools around the sides could be nice too. Just some ideas to perk up the wall some more. :)

Yea, I agree with Nyshie on that symmetrical part.
I would've liked alot more various things all about, like this the wall
lacks alot of fun that usually underwater life has.
I love the girl though, she looks flawless :3 Great job Zai~

I really like the jellyfish umbrella and the girl's candid expression~ but personally I wish the glows around the falling petals were softer and that you'd added a soft focus (blur most of the surroundings), blur and shadows to heighten the drama and enunciate the beautiully executed central character.. Either way I still say you did justice to the Touhou art *two thumbs up*

unlike the others i don't quite mind the symmertary
but the color layers on the background bothers me
i think it would look much better if it was smoother :3

Nice work
my only problem with this wall is that my eyes are drawn towards the very bright parts of the sides, because it so much more brighter and so much of it then the rest of the wall. i feel as if it goes to "high up", creating awkward levels and balance with the scan. - if that makes any sense to you. - just my opinion
Other then that i REALLY like this wall because the simplicity and color choice with the scan, it makes it really beautiful.

As much as I like it, this is not Touhou.

The closest character by this color scheme is Kogasa, a recent boss in the 12th game. Yet, as it is, it is not her with green hair.

The umbrella is cool, and all... but no.
I faved it nontheless if it feels any better.
