Hum... everything looks pretty nice :D hehe.
However.. the clouds in the bg.. they just look fake haha lol.
But i give you my fav for all the other bg work. I looks like you tried, so good effort. :D
I also like the scan. Its very clean, and suits the wallpaper very much XD haha. Looks like all of those.. Melencholy walls XD lol.

Everyone hates shinji... so he better should jump down there, lie on the rails and wait...
lol, at least I dn't hate him like the most NGE fans (he's important for the story!!)
about the wall: You did a good job at the background and it fits very well with the scan of shinji. The lightning looks good too, so all in all it's a good wall.
Well, there's one thing I might critize... the dark/black areas are a bit too empty (maybe you should have added some very dark objects or something else... I can't describe what I mean with my crappy english skills...)
anyhow, you did a great job on this wall, it's a NGE one, so you deserve a fave ^_^

Haven't seen the anime, so i don't really know, but it seems the character doesn't look as melancholy as he should >_<
but the background is awesome ^^ love the soft colours and the nice range you've used. you have no reason to be disappointed by it ^^ GO VA! :3

Those power lines need work, man. Gets pixellated in some areas of the wall too. Other than that it's a nice concept.

Is this an entry for the Melancholy theme? looks pretty good... but not as good as your other works (is that why you're disappointed? D:) well, my painting skills are nowhere near yours, but maybe there should be some shadows for smaller, darker bushes along the right side. It does look a little empty.
I love the atmosphere of this wall though. lovely blending of colors, and the text work is nice.

Mixed feelings for me.
I think the bg looks awesome (I'm assuming you painted it--you don't say anything in your description) and it really looks like it would be a bg from evangelion, although perhaps the moon looks a little off.
However, to me, there are two big problems--the look on shinji's face doesn't match to me. He seems vaguely happy and the scenes that happen in and around the railway station are not happy ones, so it kinda jarrs to me. Possibly that along with a slight tonal mismatch--he seems awful bright for sunset with no obvious light sources--makes him seem a little off to me.
The other problem si the text--to me it doesn't quite fit, both in terms of mood (that smile on his face again) and just it seems inappropriate for the mood of the scene and just generally.
Faved for the bg, though--as I say, it really looks pretty.

Is it just me, or is this supposed to be from the end of the Girlfriend of Steel game?
The train tracks and talking about someone who just departed who he "never knew" sound a lot like it.
In any case, the lighting is pretty good, but the main problem I see is the scan seems to stand out too much.
