@amerie: well for episode one they dropped the ball a little, they could have used better motivation and direction in setting up the whole rich vs. poor, and they could have not made this whole anti-Britian thing, seriously Japan = not that great

I bumped into a bit of trouble with the scan, I thought the extraction wouldn't be much problem then I found out one of her hand was holding the cross (see the original scan) and I don't want it included in my wallpaper so I did some editing on her hand so shes now stroking/scratching/touching her hair instead of grabbing onto something :)

The lighting took me a while to do too, I decide there will only one light source and its from the right window shining at the back/side of her.

Things I've Done:

- Extracted the scan.
- Recg'ed her hair
- Recg'ed her elbow(shortened her right arm).
- Recg'ed her wing which I didn't even include that part in my wall.
- Did some smoke, cloudy brushing and added some nice textures.
- Adding some outline to the scan :).
- Signature!

Rather nicely done. Of course the cathedral mixes well with the gothic figure but you've also done a good job with the lighting and its effect on the character. The very location of the fog so near the bottom of the screen is sort of odd.. I would've somehow shown the effect of the lighting on the fog.. other than that, it looks great. +F

The atmosphere looks a little too dark but the background would match the character if it looked a tad brighter. I don't really like the bright light on the bottom. The extracting was done well. Nice job.

I like the background and how you make the scan adapt on it... you can get rid of the white effect at the bottom of the wallpaper... it will be more beautiful i think... *just my opinion!*... overall its a nice wallpaper!

Hehe this must be about a 4th or 5th wallpaper I've seen this scan in.
Won't argue cause its a great scan.
Anyways love this wallpaper so much! After first seeing this wallpaper I wouldn't have figured if she was sitting down or standing without having a look at the original scan. Interesting positioning with the scan too. Great job on the re-cg'nn. Love the entire darkness and gothic scene. Though the complete darkness from the windows in the back doesn't give much to the imagination of the scenery. Or might be just me ^^. Love the brushes you've used. I've been looking all over for brushes like those.
One thing though.. A little text wouldn't hurt ^^
All in All.. Great lighting, Love the mood and concept, Wonderful scan, Nice work on re-cg and brushes!
Love your past work And Love this work as well.

OK, on first glance i thoughed "goodness how much times are they going to use the same scan over and over, getting realy old by now".

Then i noticed that there is something different about this from dozens of other walls with this scan. IT IS DIFFERENT. Then i rad things that you did with it, and i was releaved. Extraction is really awesome, original, and skillfully done (+,- a few things that were metioned in above comments).
