Song Illustration #9 - Sadness (by Enigma)
I don't know if I should advise you to full-view it, it's up to you. Love it or hate it!
Basically, everything started out with this screenshot. I took it using the good ol' Print Screen key, because I opened the file with QuickTime and I don't know if it has a Capture function. And I was too lazy to find out anyway!
Ahem. So I vectored the screenshot (which took less then I had expected!) and tried to recreate the atmosphere: Matsuri hiding in a church, thinking about her life. From the beginning, I had this idea in my head: to create clouds behind the window. I liked making the glass semi-transparent :3 I left out some of the rays, because I didn't know how to make them they didn't come out well. Also, this time I used thicker outlines -2px (what were you saying about those outlines, abul-san?
) and blurred them a bit, to make them softer.
At first, I wanted to have another effect, like the one in one of the later episodes, when in the old, abandoned cinema a picture of the sky appears on the big screen, overlaid on the characters (those who have seen Sola know what I'm talking about). I wanted to achieve that, but it didn't turn out well at all, so I left it out. My favorite part would have to be making the window :) I like how it turned out, and I think the texture (default PS one, by the way) fits it.
I don't think I have any more to say... Please comment if you like/don't like it, feedback is always welcome! Thank you in advance! :D
